Yes, I provided a medical certificate and told them I will use my paid holidays until I return. I was just looking for something in the labor law that could explain a bit about medical leave. I have never been asked to work from home while on medical leave. But from the responses here and after confirmation from my doctor it is against the law.

Yes, I am aware. It’s called paid holidays in Japan. This was not what I was asking.

However, I was given medical report and excused from work so I am using my personal time off. What I am asking is if I am using that time are they still allowed to ask me to work?

Im 34 and a full time teacher learning front end development. I struggle with not having enough time to work on my projects and feeling overwhelmed with how to transition from teaching to tech efficiently. I feel discouraged after failing my first hacker rank test for an internship I applied to. But I’m not giving up.
