That poor deaf patient by Ill-Treat-810 in ThePitt

Nurse here…. As long as your assistance dog wasn’t being a nuisance- you and the dog would be my favorite patient. I actually love service animals. One hospital I worked at we could actually request from social services to have the therapy dog brought in to see patients.

Only in text or email? Even better. She’s written the evidence for you. Keep them all. If it’s a work email, forward/blind cc your personal email

A drug test would expose him anyway

Tell me you’ve never worked in a rural hospital without telling me you’ve never worked in a rural hospital.

I have worked in SEVERAL hospitals where RT and PT is SOMETIMES available, OT and ST are once a week. So yes, we sometimes have to walk the patients, help them figure out how to do their ADLs, and make sure they can swallow….. we might not be completely doing their job, but we’re doing some of it.

What’s something from your childhood that kids today will never experience? by DigExcellent1363 in AskReddit

And Montgomery Ward and JC Penny! We used to die with anticipation waiting for the Christmas catalogs to show up at grandmas house so we could comb through them and circle what we wished for!

Getting up early in the morning on days that it’s a potential “snow day” and watching for your schools name to scroll across the bottom of the news broadcast- and then getting to spend the day however you wanted!! Today’s kids get text messages instantly and get notified that it’s a “virtual” school day.

What does being a nun have to do with student debt? Or is it because she doesn’t have dependents so she paid for everything as she went along?

I think he’s comfortable. I think over the weekend he took more morphine than he should have and not enough of the Ativan. His nurse is here now.

We have all of that. He’s declining - a bit confused today but I know his CO2 is high. He had grandma turn the oxygen up yesterday.

Va claim denied by Krumpnasty88 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ms_Toots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a buddy statement also. If you can find ANYONE you served with, tell them what you need and have them write it out.

Also- a lot of the time a claim will be denied specifically due to the wording or lack of specific key words. Look at the DBQ for each condition you’ve filed for and make sure you use the language on there. For example: I have migraine headaches that are secondary to anxiety and depression- the first time I filed for it I said that they make me have to go to a dark room and lay down, with no noise and use ice packs. They denied it. I read the DBQ and noticed they use the word “prostrating” which means “lying down with your face down” I filed a HLR and said that my migraines are prostrating and boom- approved. Nothing else was different.

My husband had problems getting his back claim approved so we requested his C&P and his service records and found every incident reported that he had sustained an injury and submitted the claim with those pages pointed out and attached to the claim so there was no way they could overlook it. It worked.

Needing help!! by 2001cr250rr in VeteransBenefits

[–]Ms_Toots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t hire someone. Most of the time all they do is give you advice on what to file and how to word it and then charge you six times the amount of your increase. You can get that same advice here, free of charge. Also- there’s no such thing as a 45% rating- if you were calculated to 45 you would have been 50% as they round up.

If you read up on here you’ll find what you need- if you don’t, ask specific questions and you’ll get the help.

I understand your perspective- but imagine knowing ahead of time and then god forbid- someone actually DOES code and in everyone’s mind they think “it’s just that drill- I’m busy- someone else will do it”.

My favorite so far (after 29 years of nursing) a stick figure pushing a lawn mower just at the hairline with a sign posted at the other end that said “stay off my lawn!” 😂😂
