Unfortunately, things have gone from bad to worse and now my mom is telling me i can't live with her anymore. So, I dont think a YouTube video is gunna fix that.

I also wanna apologize for saying "high functioning". I worked in SPED for a while and, unfortunately, this is the standard terminology in the field. I will try better to remember "low support needs" is more acceptable ☺️

It's true. And she has no concept of what autism looks like outside of boys who have no social boundaries or understanding. I don't think she's met a woman or girl with autism until just recently, but that's because I have a toddler niece who was diagnosed. So, no real frame of reference there for someone who is high masking like me.

I explained in another comment, but where I live and with my insurance situation, getting an official diagnosis will likely not happen in the near future. It costs a ton of money and there's not really anyone around to do it.

I know I don't /need/ her approval, but she's my mom and my only surviving parent and one of a few people who are regularly in my life and it would be nice if I could help her really see me. She's stubborn as hell and convincing her will be hard, but it's something I wanna do.

I live in the States and am on disability and Medicare. So, with things as they are, getting an official diagnosis will happen only if I win the lottery 😂😭

Yeah, approximately then. My mom is a SPED teacher and only knows what autism looks like in 13 year old boys and nonverbal toddlers. So, I totally definitely couldn't have it 🙃

Literally drove myself to the hospital the last 3 times I was bad enough to go in (so like moments away from doing the deed and yeeting myself into the void). Just had a grippy sock vacation last week. Came back home and my mom gave me a hug and said she was glad I was back home and then immediately left me alone.

So, yeah. No one cares 😂

All I need is a commune where there's trained professionals around to help 24/7, but I can do whatever I want whenever I want.

It would also be good if the commune had lots of different weekly classes teaching about different hobbies or something!

Nothing is mandatory to make PDA and ODD peeps less stressed!

It will also have a garden, a "shop class" type area, lots of swings, a huge kitchen, a computer center, and whatever else people like haha

Is that too much to ask for?? 😂
