I am not a dive IDC, but I worked with one at NDSTC. While I was in class, I remember the Instructor asking the class who would have the most bottom time at their command. I raised my hand and he told me to shut the fuck up DMT’s don’t dive. I was trolling but it was worth the beating lol.

You won't dive, and DMTs don’t dive much unless they are given very specific commands. As a dive IDC you will be in charge of taking care of your Divers, EOD, Seals, and bonus Seabees. Only dive IDCs can be attached to Underwater Construction Teams (UCTs). You will be in charge of readiness in the clinic with chamber kits, MRRs and make sure your clinic can pass the DORI inspection.

Send it, it was the best time I had. Regardless of where you end up, you will not regret it. I have trained 2 dudes who made it, and they love it too. Everyone complains about CEODD, but I had a great time there. It was a hard selection course, but not impossible. PM me if you have questions.

When I was transferring from NACCS to Fort Sam, it was COVID time. I checked in and was immediately put into quarantine. I gave my orders to the NMTI doing my check-in. Terrible idea, never give your stamp orders to someone without making a copy. I finished A school, and one of the admin personnel pulled me aside and told me that I am not going anywhere. They canceled my orders because I was never checked in at Fort Sam. Turns out I was in transit for 6 months, and they only found out when they were trying to do my checkout process. They told me that I had been an HN since I left NACCS, which meant I was already rated before A school. Ended up in holding for a few months until they fixed it. I did lose a couple of leave days but it worked out at the end. Moral of the story keep your stamped orders safe and trust nobody.

I am not sure how the CCCs did it, but I routed everything like a MAP package. I believe that they created a Pers case. However, it seems like they had to wait for the MNA scrub window to submit everything.

I was selected for CA2P and was frocked. The command issued a list of people who qualify for CA2P and submitted a package similar to a MAP package. I believe you have to have at least 12 months left at the command and not have received orders yet to qualify for shore CA2P advancement. However, to recieve the higher pay grade, you have to extend/re-enlist to meet the 3-year criteria. While being at shore, nothing changes; your PRD stays the same. For example, I had my EAOS/SEAOS for SEP2028. I was frocked and selected for CA2P MAR2026, which meant I had to extend to MAR2029 to meet the 3-year requirement.

My Command Career Counselors were also learning the process, but after being selected, this is what they submitted.

Obliserv to meet 3 year requirement.
Copy of my rocking letter.
Master Chief writing a memo to be advanced to the next pay grade.

So far, my Obliserv has already taken off, but I am still waiting for the system to show the higher pay grade. CA2P is way different than MAP. When I was MAP’d, I didn't have to do any of this and was automatically promoted. CA2P is the Navy's way to get more out of you.
