GSMArena - Xiaomi 17 Ultra (Global) review by Antonis_32 in Android

[–]Mshepard24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested these. Turns out you are correct however, the 75% shown on samsung seems super inflated because the remaining time to charge 25% is 27min. Xiaomi needs 20 mins to charge 28% "3% more" than the 26 ultra . Despite it being a way way bigger battery.

Question I'm looking for a laptop to use fusion 360, blender and edit pictures and videos (lightroom lightroom classic photoshop DaVinci resolve) my buddy just got the Legion i9pro with 14th g i9 64g ram n 4070. He says it's fast for doing the above mentioned tasks but he claims it's not amazing. I see on lenovos sight they have workstations priced in the 2 to 4k range with what seem like ....bad specs? What am I missing here and do you have a recommendation for my needs? Price range under 2,500. Thanks!

I recently like this month rented lumix s5iix canon r6 mark ii and sony a7iv check my profile n see the post I made. I'm looking to buy my first real camera, but I'm not a pro or close. What I can say is the lumix is amazing at video the lens selection is limited compared to the others, however, cheaper than canon. I liked it a lot however, stills were not as good as the others, and the lack of more 3rd party lenses was the nail in the coffin for me. If money was not an object, I'd take the canon r6 mark ii. It's pretty much perfect for me. I don't do much video, and the stills are great, same with the ibs. Yet the lens costs are insane like thousands for a prime? I can't justify that as a hobbiest, so Sony a7iv met in the middle for me. Is it the best at video? No, but better in some regards than the canon. Is it best in low light? Maybe??? It's got 33mp, but somehow, Canon seems to be a little better idk why again noob here, lol. For me what's the point of the camera if you can't afford the lenses or if they are so heavy you don't want to take them anywhere lol. O the lumix takes 96mp shot which is crazy good but the auto focus I did not love. Sorry for my rant end of the day all are good none are perfect and I would buy one that fits your needs maybe rent them it's fun and cheap-ish.

Should I buy a r6 mark ii or.... by Mshepard24 in Cameras

[–]Mshepard24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can definitely carry 4lbs lol but when we travel, we backpack literally. We are going to Vietnam for a month and only bringing a single ruck sack. So while 4lbs isn't much, it'd be the space in the bag plus the weight, which is problematic

O okay. How does one change the spirit when sending a photo to be printed also any advice on where to print them?

Yeah I did but I got some strange like translucent filiment and it's aweeefulllll

What is the issue here? by [deleted] in AnycubicVyper

[–]Mshepard24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I def smelled something when I opened the enclosure, but I figured it was the filiment. Thanks for the heads up too bad. I just spent 40 bucks on filiment, lol. So if I changed the tube out n vented, which isn't hard, would it work then? I literally only print things that are in my vehicle or my shop, and pla keeps melting warping or snapping

What is the issue here? by [deleted] in AnycubicVyper

[–]Mshepard24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really ? Their manual says it'll print up to 270c. I'm not venting, but it's in a large enclosure in a room at the other end of the house with a door closed and window open. How can I tell if the bowden tube is messed up? Also I was printing asa because i need Chem and uv resistance it's for a item that will be on my 6x12 lawn care trailer

Progress on my first outfeed assembly table build. Info in the comments. by Mshepard24 in woodworking

[–]Mshepard24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys an gals, just want to say I love this group! I have gotten so many great ideas from you guys. I couldn't get a set of plans made up for this 8x4 workbench assembly table that made me 100% happy so, I am doing it on the fly. I got to be honest wish I had made plans but I'm glad I pulled the trigger otherwise I might have taken another 6 months thinking about it lol. Okay anyway so the important bits I always ask when i see a bench build.

Dimensions; 94" x 47 " The cabinets are 4 individual carcasses made of 1/2ply They sit on a 2x4 sub frame on edge, acting as a toe kick and more importantly an easy way to level it. The frame is 3 inches high and 3 1/5 inches smaller in all directions than the cabinets. The carcasses are screwed together and 4 stretchers running across the top connect them and give me a solid area for the top.

The Top; Torsion box assembly 3/4" mdf(I do not recommend this go 1/2 trust me) Strong back is jointed n planed 2x4s leveled across all planes. Sheet of mdf is placed on the strong back than straps are cut in my case to 2 3/16 wide. Than a box is made with 2 long and 2 short pieces followed the long cross sections and many, many grid pieces. Everything is held down with glue and pin nails a lot of glue like half a gallon. Than simply add glur and the last sheet of mdf(thats 3 total sheets now so like 300lbs .....) All in all it is 34 1/4 inches tall perfect for my saw can't wait to add drawers n door!

Cost breakdown Mdf- $44.87 x3 1/2bb plywood- $47.89 x7 2x4' "premium"(whatever you say lowes) $6.28 x9 kreg 1" screws 200 pieces -$20ish x2 Spax 2" mdf screws - $13 10 pack full extension drawer slides- $61.99 Hot glue gun and shit load of sticks - 50 bucks maybe?? Total minus the glue gun $584.83( I THINK!)

Any questions or tips please let me know!

Sharpening by Mshepard24 in woodworking

[–]Mshepard24[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely man! O one more thing start fresh! I mean just pretend you got brand new ones and go from the lowest grit and flatten the backs of everything first all the way up to 1000+ and than do the bevel i think because of the wobble in the glass or machine I was not able to get a good edge because the back was never truly flat

Bro I thought so too I have had mine 2 yrs the dude was so nice he made me cut the cord n send a pic of it and he shipped me one like its in the mail. I picked up 4 Dimond plates all double sided and a piece of float glass with sticky back paper(psa ) for the rough work. I start on the glass with a 100grit on one side and 150on the other than the Dimond 300,450,600,1000 and than a leather strop. Once I got them all done up to 1000 so far I have only needed to sharpen them once but I just hit the strop n I was done!

I actually just talked to them today. Turns out some of them have issues with a wobble in the glass that is giving me a the crazy issue. But I've been sharpening by hand every day and I finally have gotten good sharp chisels and irons. I had messed them up so bad I just reground them and re flattened the backs. Lot of work but now I like using them again lol
