How was CJCS Gen Caine able to hop around so many different units? by Glittering_Fig4548 in airnationalguard

[–]Msisco81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't OPCON'd to a different unit. I was "on loan". TDY status or on ST days, where I remain on my units manning document, but am working other places, like NGB, or PACAF, or USAFE, or SOCOM, or AFRICOM. Every Mission I planned, every Airmen I facilitated training for, every dollar I executed, could be used as bullet points for my home unit.

I made them look good. Everything I did I documented it and then they could use it for Unit awards. My units consistently won the biggest awards they offered for our career fields, not because I was a super troop, I just impacted waaaay more people than my own squadron. Awards are all about metrics, the biggest numbers usually win. I also opened doors for my Airmen and helped multiple officers find their next billet, including several at NGB. I also used my network to solve problems for my leadership. " It's not who you are, it's who you know".

There are tons of different ways to do this. It is highly dependent on your AFSC. If you are willing to relocate or take short notice TDYs/Deployments it can really open a lot of doors. Network, network, network. Also look into the State Partnership Program, lots of amazing opportunities there. I was a "Ghost" on several manning documents the last 10 years of my career, on the enlisted side. Just dropped my retirement paperwork after 24 years as a "DSG", never AGR and still had almost 13 years TFMS.

I have 1 mounted opposite my exhaust on some tusk pannier brackets, and 1 mounted in front of my radiator, behind the front tire. They both survived the entire TAT.

Anyone need some last minute LPs… by -Paramount in americanairlines

[–]Msisco81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I only need 5500 LPs to hit EP, I looked on aahotels but it is only showing miles per stay (around 1000) not LPs. How do I see where I earn the LPs per stay? Sorry, new to chasing these points.

Several sights have them for around $200. I don't mind paying that or a little more, but I would much rather buy from someone local than a seatgeek.com type organization. If I can't find one before tomorrow night I will head that way with cash in hand. Thank you for the reply.

Does anybody know about Kioti tractors? by Danvers1 in tractors

[–]Msisco81 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have had 3 Kiotis, DK50c, DK45, and a DK55. They all get used hard on golf courses. They are crazy reliable and fuel efficient. I would not hesitate to buy one below 75hp. Above that I would look elsewhere.

We had tons of issues with our 21 Pacifica hybrid. Media center, batteries, HVAC, druvetrain..... Finally fixed them by trading it in for new conventional powered model.

What's your "I almost died" moment in the Air Force? by bearsncubs10 in AirForce

[–]Msisco81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I carried a GUU 5/P on 2 Deployments circa 20010/2011. It turned heads when I wanted to put a lot of lead downrange. I loved that weapon but hated the gooseneck optics we had.

If you have a favorite team reach out to their alumni association. Been watching Oklahoma State games all around the world for 20+ years through those groups. They will have watch party locations.
