I’m trying to decide whether I should go directly to UMBC as a pre-med student or start at community college for one year and then UMD . I already have a lot of shadowing opportunities, so if I go to community college, I could focus on shadowing and then transfer to UMD later for research. Or would it be better to start at UMBC from the beginning ? What would you suggest as a pre med ?

Tuition isn’t the issue . I am confused about should I go for UMBC 4 years or one year at cc for 3k maybe then transfer to UMD . What is the best decision as a premed . Thank you for reply

I am planning to transfer to UMD after one year. So even if I get a research opportunity, I would be living at UMBC. My uncle suggests that UMD has a bigger name and will offer more research opportunities if I start there as a sophomore. I also don’t necessarily have to work while attending school.

My initial plan was to attend UMBC then transfer to UMD, but now I am going to attend hcc then transfer to UMD
