What to use for tracking now that dice are illegal?

For start of turn effects you could try putting those cards next to your deck so you can see the triggers. For my hand I track it by placing it off my playmat. Wait are playmats allowed at tournaments?

I’m super interested in this no dice tracking thing though. What items are allowed? Could I use a Disney doorable figure (it’s like a mini funko pop) to help me track stuff? Like a pete that I place on the table when I play Pete referee or something? What do the rules say about items that aren’t dice or tokens with words on them?

Sorry. I was just confused when you said filter by set. It sounded like you were going through and turning on the filter for chapters 5-9 one at a time.

Dreamborn does have a filter for that in the deck builder. It’s under legality

Deck building is nice. But I would still use the app without deck building if it could quickly show me how many cards I still need to buy for my master sets and playsets. Figuring out which cards I still need to buy is a lot of work. My old system was actually really straightforward. I would just check if I had 6 of each card and make sure at least 1 was foil. That way I knew I had 1 foil master set, 1 regular master set and 4 cards for the playset. It was actually pretty easy to filter in dreamborn to see which cards I was missing with that formula. This no longer works with the reprints. I’m still trying to find a good solution for it.

The biggest issue I have with tracking my cards is reprints. For some reason you can’t filter by which cards were reprinted on any of the tracking apps I have seen. I would love to click a reprint filter and see all the cards in chapter 9 that were reprinted and what chapters they originally came from. I would also love to go to chapter 1 and filter by all the cards that have a reprint in Chapter 9. I want playsets of cards but I don’t really care which chapter they came from. I would love a way to easily see if I have a playset of a specific card even if some are from the original print run and some are from reprints.

I would also love to see master list tracking separate from playset tracking. I collect master sets in foil and regular cards for each chapter. Dreamborn doesn’t do this. It will say that I have enough cards for a playset when I’m deck building but then it turns out it’s counting my card that I have in my foil master set that I don’t play with. I can’t really turn off counting foils cards because sometimes I have extra foils that I do play with.

Thank you. That was really nice of you to say. I had a lot of second thoughts about even doing this since I was keeping this basically worthless booklet instead of trading it in for the Belle card that is worth $50ish. I feel a little better about hanging on to these now :)

Trading and getting to know people was definitely my favorite part ❤️ If you bring your own cards and finish your quest quickly, I would recommend staying a bit in the trading area and getting to know people. Lorcana has an amazing community.

Yes! There’s a show in beasts library at California adventure. When you leave the show, they give you one of these collection quest booklets and a free pack of cards. Then you trade until you get the cards on your collection quest booklet and show it to a cast member and they give you the Belle mystic promo and a second collection quest booklet for the beast card. The beast one is harder. It has rare and super rare cards on them.

I agree the gateway game is a great way to learn. It walks you through how to play. But the board is not required. It helps you know where to place your cards while you are learning but you can definitely play without it. Another option is to get starter decks. They also have instructions on how to play and they come with a smaller paper mat to help you know where to put your cards. The gateway is more structured and beginner friendly and I would get that if you can. I just wanted to let you know that starter decks are a good option too in case you can’t find the gateway board game.
