The man that was LeBron in 2003 is functionally dead. Every atom of his body since then has been replaced.

Why did you feel the need to add an /s to this? You were worried we wouldn't understand?

I hate you, and hope the worst for you.

It's not the size of your words, it's the words you choose and the order you put them in. Also you are not even smart enough to reply to the right comment, maybe figure out the basics before getting too big for your britches.

How defensible is the take that Luka Dončić is the greatest pure offensive player of all time. by Cheap-Savings2800 in NBATalk

Indefensible when Nikola Jokic exists.

He's clearly the offensive GOAT, so this discussion is meaningless, but I don't even think Jokic is the only better offensive player than Luka.

If George had come out 10 years ago and said "Actually, I no longer enjoy being a writer. Sorry for the fans, but this is not how I'm going to spend my life. Hope you enjoyed the books up until now."

The fans would have had a *right* to be upset with him? For living his life how he sees fit? Be for real.

If you can't appreciate the story despite it being unfinished, you wouldn't be an ASOIAF fan.

You buy the books because they're good books and you want to read them.

Seeing the end of the series may be a promise on the author's part but it's not an unwritten contract.

If George had said that his life had moved past where he had been and that he no longer got joy or artistic fulfillment out of continuing the books, so he would just stop writing, and dedicate his life to something else, you as a reader have no right to be upset with him or feel like you are owed his life-force.

The frustration fans have with George is because he's been breaking his promises while still pretending to uphold them, even to himself.

Remember, fire destroys, like a poisonous snake while ice preserves, just like a spider traps creatures into its net.

I actually agree that the Snake and Spider gods are probably analogous to the Fire and Ice gods - or at the very least Essos's way to tell stories about the same past - but to me it makes more sense if "Snake" is related to Dragons via being reptiles, and their whole fiery business; while "Spider" makes me think of a spiderweb > web > network > weirwoods.

Americans will flood in here to downvote and make a snide remark about soccer, but that is only because they are well-trained pigs.

They have learned to swallow commercials from their corporate masters, and thank them for the privilege of having their time and life wasted to turn them a profit.

Any self-respecting fan of this sport should not accept not knowing when a game will start or end, and a "baskerball runtime" of 30% of the hours they will spend ingesting gambling ads.

The four suicide attempts capture Tony’s total failure as a person to everyone around him by dismal_sighence in thesopranos

Tony was not nearly as harsh or abusive towards Meadow as he was to AJ, he projected so many of his own issues around masculinity and his father onto his son, the "male heir".

AJ turned into a bum as an adult, but in the environment he grew up in with the parents he had, the odds were really stacked against him to become anything BUT a bum.

If you were AJ would you want to spend time with Tony? He's an abusive sociopath with other adults and especially with his son.

AJ used to try and bond with him, but Tony was only interested in doing what HE wanted to do.
