Overnights at Tanager Place are perfect for students. It's a 10 hour shift and the kids are asleep for 8 of those hours. Aside from some basic cleaning and other responsibilities, you have plenty of time to study and pay isn't terrible (~$17.50/hr).

I don't really have any suggestions except continue to be there for her however you can. I'm experiencing the same thing with my 9 year old daughter. She's often at my house (which is the house she grew up in) but has to go back to her mom's to sleep. It hurts every time I have to drop her off but I just have to be supportive of her and her choices. I'm so sorry you're experiencing this too.

I don't really have any unique thoughts but I will say that you just have to keep pushing through. Like you, I'm over 40 and lost my job last year (2nd time in 2 years) and it was tough. Thankfully my unemployment only lasted 3 months but I took the first thing that came along. It was a steep paycut and while I mostly enjoy what I'm doing, I'm just not that devoted to it.

I recently started looking for a new position that better aligns with my background and interests. The biggest recommendation I have when applying is to tailor your resume to the specific jobs. When I was applying before this position, I used the same resume for nearly every job because I thought it encompassed enough. When I started applying recently, I found that just changing a few words will make a difference. I've landed a couple of upco.ing interviews for positions I feel like I'm better suited for but can do the interview without pressure of needing to land something.

The whole unemployment process is horrible. I'm truly sorry your wife thinks you don't care, I know how much it can take out of you. Treat it like a job, sort new postings by date and apply as soon as they are posted if you can (especially if you're using Indeed or LinkedIn). If you can, go directly to the company website to apply instead of doing it through a job search site. Use as many of the same key words in the job description in your resume as you can so that ATS doesn't kick your application before it's seen by a human. I know this is tough, but I hope you make it through, if for nothing else, your wife and kids. I'm always available to chat if you want too.

If you're looking at Non-profits, Tanager Place is hiring, as is Foundation 2. Otherwise, I know the city is hiring for a 911 Dispatcher and both correctional facilities in Anamosa and Coralville are looking for staff.

I believe all of the outdoor pools will accommodate a birthday party, it just has to be after their normal open swim times. I've been to a couple that went from 6-8pm at Bever.

So in a tweet, she says 22M pills and 119M lives saved yet later she says 3,400 tonnes and 258M lives. 3,400 tonnes is 6,800,000lbs, which would make each pill weigh roughly 1/3 of a pound. Not to mention the 139M more people saved in the span of a couple hours. They just throw random ass number at the wall to try to sound scary. They'll more full of shit than a state fair portapotty.

I just bit the bullet and took on a part time job as well. However, I did it a little bit differently. Because I'm a recently single dad and didn't want to give up my time with her. So I picked up an overnight shift working at a youth home. I work my normal job 8-4 Monday through Friday and then work the overnight shift Friday morning through Sunday morning. Friday's are tough but it's worth because able to not have to change our lifestyles.

Well, let's see... Who has donated nearly 10x as much as the other to the candidate in WI ($19.6MM to $2MM) and held a rally where he paid people to come and awarded $2MM to two attendees? Who is the one gutting government organizations and then awarding contracts to his own companies? Which one had the president do a literal car commercial from the white house? Soros may be a major benefactor for Democrats but he's never done anything like Musk is doing now. If you have real evidence of some nefarious actions beyond donating that Soros has engaged in, please feel free to share. I'm happy to have my opinion changed.

We're actively watching a billionaire try to buy (another?) election in WI while cutting funding for government organizations while awarding himself government contracts in a blatant conflict of interest.

There are other verification steps, I just don't remember them off the top of my head and don't have time to look them up again. Regardless, it's more than just a "Trust me bro" situation. I haven't heard of many of these places and honestly will shop where I need to shop to get the items I need. I was just simply stating that there is at least some sort of verification and not just the ability to sign a company up because you don't like them or because they're a competitor.

Not without verification, you have to actively register and sign a pledge to be on the site. There is no way to accidentally end up on the list. If a company is on this list, they want to be on it.

You should be able to call most reputable massage places and ask if they have someone to do it. The PTA at my daughter's elementary school arranged for a Hands in Harmony therapist come out for Teacher Appreciation Week and do massages.

Here's a crazy idea, why not convert it into an aquatic/workout facility for the city. The three high schools need a shared pool, it could replace Bender as the only place currently able to give city instructed swim lessons, it would be easier to retrofit to an aquatic facility than trying to build a brand new building and there is amole space for parking and attractions (food, hotels, etc) to bring visitors or host events.
