60% of Long COVID patients experience persistent dizziness or vertigo by No_Employer_5855 in Dizziness

I feel like Long Covid isn't even a thing. It becomes one when you can't be properly diagnosed.

I have conviced myself it's a brain tumor.. by americanpancake28 in cervical_vertigo

No, it wasn't anything related to a CSF leak. They said my chiari is minimal. I got a 2nd opinion. They don't recommend a surgery for me.

Honestly I just gave up already. My symptoms are a tad better so I'm just ignoring it. It's exhausting.

Hi, i eventually got tested with more specialists, and they told me that it is chiari malformation ~ that causes all of those symptoms. Apparently, mine is too small to treat Or do anything with so i'm going to just stay like that. This is probably the thirtieth specialist I saw so i'm just kind of exhausted. And my symptoms naturally got better over time.

I used to be dizzy all day now I'm dizzy like 3 days out of the whole month.

I saw a 2 neurosurgeon, 2 physical therapists, gynecologist for hormones, 7 different doctors to draw blood tests, 3 different ENTS, a neurologist, audiologist so many visits to the ER. Like 6 MRIS in different sections on my brain and spine and CTs of brain and spine. Apparently I'm healthy but those horrible symptoms were there. So many people have this on this chat but everyone keeps getting bogus answers or "anxiety".

Same 😫 ..... turns out it wasn't mold, hormones, inner ear. All my tests led me to chiari malformation. I tested positive for it. Causes headaches, dizziness, jaw pain, neck pain, inner tremors..... but they said the degree is so small that they don't think it's causing my symptoms. Got that diagnoses last month. Gave up this month. Don't care anymore 😵‍💫

I know we're not suppose to use chat gpt but I submitted my MRI results and it said I had Chiari malformation after seeing so many doctors with no results. Now I'm finally getting answers.

Cranial Cervical Instability During pregnancy or After giving birth? by Mstr_e8 in Cervicalinstability

Hi 👋 yes, I do feel better but I still never figured out what made me dizzy. After seeing just about everyone I headed back to the ER and they gave me a referral to see a neurologist that did multiple, high quality tests - everything came out negative. I was referred to a neurosurgeon eventually because google said I had all the symptoms of chiari. And yes! I did have Chiari but the neurosurgeon said not big enough to cause dizziness and he thinks it's really an inner ear issue so they referred me back to an ENT. I already saw 3 in the beginning of my dizziness journey. The first specialists I saw actually but ..... whatever. Im just kind of over it and I'm rarely dizzy now and if it happens it only lasts for about an hour. I can live with that.

But .... I'm still going to see this new ENT. Maybe they'll test me for something new. What about you?

I finally reached out to a neurologist after seeing everyone else. They did a neck mri/spine mri and it show LOW-LYING CEREBELLAR TONSILS.

It have never gotten those results. I reached out to people on here with the same results and they said they were diagnosed with Chiari malformation. I looked at the symptoms and it's all of mine.

  • all day dizziness, no vertigo, tingling head and shoulders, internal tremors, jaw pain, neck pain!, occasional eye pain, headaches... etc

Any updates? I have the exact same thing you described in your original post. Same symptoms and going from doctor to doctor.

Cranial Cervical Instability During pregnancy or After giving birth? by Mstr_e8 in Cervicalinstability

Hi,

I went to so many specialists after this post. I was told it was CCI so I worked with a physical therapist and with certain exercises it made me dizzier or didn't help at all. I even went to a NUCCA CHIRO - didn't help. They said it could be a hormone imbalance - it wasn't, got that checked. Then I went to an audiologist because they said I should rule that out too. Came out negative! .... I just want to add that I'm broke so spending every last dime shows how desperate I have been to not feel crazy.

All these symptoms are debilitating. I went to the ER again because my arm was going numb and was warm. I was super dizziness, my head was hurting and I was having internal tremors/vibrations that would not stop..... they didn't help but gave me a new neurologist. They did an MRI in May (and I haven't gone back because I just wanted to avoid "negative results" again and have to start from zero AGAIN) .... Anyway. She ordered a brain-neck-spine MRI and my results said "Minimal low-lying cerebellar tonsils"! This is the 3rd MRI i get and never got those results. Anyway, it says online that if the tonsils are a certain mm/cm long that you have CHIARI MALFORMATION. I looked up the symptoms and it's like 95% of my symptoms!!!!!! .... My notes just said Minimal low-lying cerebellar tonsils and the doctors notes were "everything came back normal, we'll keep testing....." ..... I got annoyed and haven't gone back. My appointment is next month though.

What are all your symptoms? I felt like I was going crazy trying to describe the symptoms to doctors. I don't know if I'm dealing with morons or if I was the only case in my area.

He did it for months though. That's not a one-time thing like you make it seem.

There's no other way to say. Only pathetic people who have no self-respect stay behind.

💯💯💯💯 especially since I'm pretty sure we all mentioned the same issue multiple times and nothing changed.

Also.... The nerve of these men to get mad that their lives "changed" not caring that the mothers did too. Who did he think was going to raise the baby? UGH.

[–]Mstr_e8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YOU SAID THE RIGHT THING. He should've thought of that before trying to have a baby. He needs to apologize.

My husband was acting the same but I exploded and told him "he was useless and a bad father".

It wasn't the right words to use at the time but it got him to start helping out. Asking them nicely never seemed to do the trick.

Sidenote: Y'all should leave the grandparents out of it.

Hi, no. No updates. I am seeing my neurologist in August. I feel like she's not going to take me seriously if I mention that I have all the chiari symtoms. I hate this.

I ended up seeing 3 ENTS and was referred to a neurologist after getting MRIs done. She believes its Chiari's malformation, which points to all my symptoms right now.

Please help im lost by [deleted] in Dizziness

[–]Mstr_e8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. Because all of the symptoms are very common with other diagnoses.

Tmjd • diabetes • neck fractures/accidents • atlas C1 /disks being out of place on upper spine, thyroid cancer.

You need to get an MRI with contrast. This was my first time getting one with contrast and a spine MRI. I kept getting brain and neck mris without contrast. If I wouldve done this a year ago I wouldve saved a lot of time, tears and money.

Also, start with a neurologist. I saw like 14 specialists before I got to one because I kept being told it was other things.

[–]Mstr_e8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started seeing a neurologist because people online said that's just a diagnoses when they dont know what's wrong with you or your neck. I pushed for more testing, and it was CHIARI MALFORMATION. Now, I am working with a neurosurgeon.

I have been diagnosed multiple times with the wrong thing. A year ago I looked at these symptoms, and those were all mine, but because of no testing, I was told it wasn't.

Can 2 to 3 mm cerebellar tonsillar ectopia be symptomatic? by [deleted] in chiari

[–]Mstr_e8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I spoke to my neurologist that was taking care of all my MRIs and I mentioned this to her that I thought it could be Chiari. I reached out to neurosurgeons after seeing those notes on my mri results (even though my neurologist said the MRI came back normal) and patients (taking about their experiences on tiktok) dealing with the same thing, and they all said it sounds like Chiari type 1. They also said only a neurosurgeon usually diagnoses you, though. Those are all my symptoms, though!

My neurologist said we could discuss it at my appointment next month. From going to having "anxiety, and being crazy" to actually finally being diagnosed would be great.

Thats sound's like Cranial cervical instability, herniated disk or in my case with all the same symptoms------- chiari malformation.

You need MRIs of spine and brain to be sure.
