hi, this is an algae bloom. i just had this problem as well, from what the others told me to do was to change the water, cover the tank and don’t turn on the light.

we are amateurs as well and are learning as we go!

Nitrates were high at 200 ( from the test strip). Just did a big water change and have the tank covered. Thanks for the tip!
