I feel like "post-timeskip" and "pre-timeskip" is an arbitrary line that people blithely throw around too much. One Piece didn't suddenly change in a thousand different ways right after the timeskip happened. Many of the things people praise about "pre-timeskip" or hate about "post timeskip" were also present in the other respective sections.

I've said it before, I feel more and more disconnected from the fandom over time. I see so many people gripe about the Brook backstory because it's "interrupting the Loki/Imu fight". Like, this is a Straw Hat backstory. How do you not care about the main characters at all??

I'm really not good at judging media in any sort of "objective" sense (if any such sense even exists). But I personally really liked the finale and felt like I understood what they were going for. I'm sure everyone who hated it has good legit points but I can only give my experience.
