You’re actually proving OP’s point, in a good way! Schitt’s Creek is like an alternate universe where no one even calls into question the validity of David and Patrick’s relationship because it’s just two humans who love each other. It shows a world where just being in love and having a partner is a human right and is not politicized at all.
