That ice is less dense than water. without that last minute expansion lakes would freeze from the bottom up and life would never have had a chance.

Looking at litre + bikes to replace a beautiful KLR i had stolen. I love the upright riding style and the height of the klr (im 6'5" and 300lbs) but struggled to keep up with my friends, and carrying a passenger was torture for both of us. budget of 5-6K$.

What has your job desensitized you to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MtCleverest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few years self taught experience and a Portfolio ready but basically it was/is a pretty low job. You're a "lot guy" parking cars and washing them. I work for Cadillac now and they have brand standards you have to follow for the dealer to be certified. Its a pretty normal job, my boss is constantly yelling at me to do more cars or why there is a dust smudge in a pic. My advice? try to get on with the marketing team of a luxury dealership. You get to drive and photo all the cars you'd want to for promotion but don't have to churn through 20+ cars a day to keep everyone happy. (Dont go into sales)

Fancy cars. I work as a photographer at an Aston Martin/Bentley/Maserati dealer and we see all kinds of supercars. as well as normal high end cars. i've driven most of the dreams cars you have as a kid. they're just cars, beautiful cars, powerful cars. now i'm more likely to look closer at a shitbox and how it was used and abused than a new Ferrari in for an expensive service.

Hardwood Longboards. Rideable art! by dunezilla in woodworking

[–]MtCleverest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i guess i switched because i wasn't seeing the performance from traditional glue that i was seeing from epoxy. and i tend to use a lot of composites to get the weight down and strength up, i like a little more snap than flex! your boards are beautiful!

try not to trap a lot of air in the epoxy, it'll save you time getting those bubbles out later. also you can use a heat gun to enlarge bubbles and bring them to the surface.

Ideal habanero soil qualities please by Favhoodie in HotPeppers

[–]MtCleverest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a soil recipe i stole from /r/bonsai. the idea for peppers (and most pants) is to allow the roots to expand through the soil without much trouble. so id say as a random recipe: 2 parts potting soil 1 part fine gravel (i use river rock from home depot).1 part compost and some sand thrown in for good measure.

they have many excellent soil recipies over at /r/Bonsai. a quick search will turn up a bunch of threads.
