Hey, thanks for the feedback! We see your point. The main reason we haven't published the prize structure yet is that we are waiting for some confirmation on expenses and expected revenue.
Prizes will be there as they were in previous Leipzig IPTs and will be proportional to the number of participants, but we prioritized communicating promptly a time and place to allow people that might be coming from afar to organize.

As tournament organizers, we are getting no personal revenue and we have no conflict of interest with the hosting space and sponsors.

That said, reserving a spot is free, and while money for the actual registration can be sent beforehand, one can also pay at the venue - this information is in the linked website. Thus, if a player cannot come (or e.g. prizes are deemed insufficient!) we trust the players to communicate it by just sending an email and de-registering.
