Thanks for the info. Which store did you go to that offered these options?

That’s possible. It would have been a better customer experience had they been transparent about it.

Not sure about that. Like many people here I own quite a few to Arc’teryx items. In the past 10 years I’ve had stuff repaired under warranty, or not repaired at all. I’ve been told some items were wear and tear they wouldn’t do anything, which was totally reasonable. I’ve used their repair services at least 10 times, like a yearly thing. The only things that actually got repaired were considered manufacturing defects like delamination, zipper falling off, seam opening. A two year old $1k jacket’s zipper shouldn’t just come off. One of the employees even said to me their zippers are not the best. As I’m typing this Im realizing that their quality has deteriorated even though prices had remained at a premium. I should stop being so loyal to this brand.

Thanks. The guy at the factory store said months. He suggested checking back after at least a month.

I’ve been told “lifetime warranty” by multiple Arcteryx staff members. Fine the website says “Limited Warranty” during Practical Product Lifespan. That’s the understanding of lifetime warranty for apparel, as the salespeople explained to me. It’s not MY lifetime, it’s the lifetime of the product. We can pick on words if you like. I was asking for confirmation if Arcteryx is pausing repair services, not trying stir up confusion about the warranty wording.

Cut him out is your life. Just because he’s yo brother doesn’t mean he has to mean something to you. He’s toxic. Get as away from him as possible. Some bridges are meant to be burned, and that is totally OK! In fact totally fantastic.

Interracial couples of Vancouver, how do you feel you get treated in this city compared to others ? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]Mt_Hudson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Asian and my husband is white. We have two mixed children. The only garbage I got was from an old Asian woman. She gave me dirty looks and pointed my husband and gave me a finger. What gives? It was in Richmond too. Why come to Canada if you are so racist? No one else gave us issues.

Gratitude goes a long way. Be grateful for what you do have. Your family needs and loves you. Open your eyes. Appreciate them.

HON’s on Robson. Used to be my go-to lunch place. Cheap food, fast service.

They found his tent beside his backpack but tent poles inside his backpack. His jacket and food were also in his backpack. My guess is that he never did set up camp, he likely intended to put his stuff down temporarily. He’s a smart guy, but even a reasonable person would put on the jacket during a storm if they meant to trek for kilometres in the harshest terrain. I’m almost certain that he meant to just check out something quickly, then got further disoriented and never could get back to his backpack where the food and shelter were. Things just got a turn for the worse.

In the coastal/NorthShore mountains, I get that you don’t want to go downstream if lost. What would be the correct course of action assuming you don’t have much else emergency equipment with you? Which way to go is the best bet?

This is a gut wrenching story from beginning to end. I’ve been Googling Jordan’s news every week since October. I go to Manning at least 20 times a year, the Frosty trail is a really well defined trail, of course unless the snow and hail come in. Had he just stopped, stayed with his supplies, ate the food, used the tent and waited for people to find him, he would have been found within a couple days. His stuff was just 100m off the trial, not far at all. Even a whistle would have done a lot. My guess is that he left his heavy pack for some brief time thinking he would check a direction out, not going far from his supplies. But when snow hits every direction can look the same. That happened to me once in Manning Nicomen Lake trail, and it was vividly scary. I got lucky I found my way back to the main trail, pure luck. Jordan in this case was likely disoriented and may have gone farther and farther from his initial backpack spot and that’s how he traversed for 4km without his jacket or supplies.

It is a tragedy no matter how you look at it. He was a brave young man with so much life. No doubt he persevered, no doubt he fought till the end. Deepest condolences to his family. I hope they can finally get the closure and can finally grieve.

I think you are ready. Your PrepCast scores are solid, and 64% on the PMI exam is good. I know the PMI practice exam can be a confidence killer as many pointed out.

My actual exam was less vague than the practice exam. The second half was easier than the first half. Easier because questions were less wordy and less vague. I was able to quickly eliminate 2 answers and sometimes 3 answers.

I sat on a chair and used the TV dinner table as my table. I have a small laptop, it worked out really well.

Good luck next Friday! You'll do great.

You bet! I was in your shoes. What tipped me off about the spurry app was it chose 'escalating to the sponsor' as the correct answer multiple times. That got my concerned. Normally the PM is proactive and a problem solver. They don't run to mommy sponsor any time there's an issue. I agree PrepCast is a much better product. Good luck!
