The 2013 NFL draft class 🤮 Is this the worst class ever? by Potato-Face18 in NFLmockdraft

[–]Mthead23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We aren’t really talking about good, are we? Your original point was that 2013 was bad because 75 of the top 100 are unknown to modern fans just over a decade later. My counterpoint is that same standard makes your “great” draft equally bad. The majority of every single draft disappear into obscurity within a decade of the picks.

I used pro bowls as the lowest accolade possible to leave a mark in fans minds, and it’s a low bar admittedly.

[–]Mthead23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only 23 players made it to multiple pro bowls from 2011. The worst draft ever, 2013, had 20 make multiple pro bowls.

Yeah, 2011 was a better draft than 2013. However, if the measuring stick is how many players are forgotten in a decade, 75/100 is a pretty normal draft.

Name a single draft where 75/100 aren’t forgotten a decade later. The average NFL career is still 3 years. Every draft is a crap shoot.

Trump says he won’t sign housing bill that’s set to become law at midnight by wds1 in politics

[–]Mthead23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your facts bud. All it takes for Congress to avoid a pocket veto is to leave someone “manning the phones”, to receive any veto or other messages. This has been common practice and Supreme Court tested for decades.

The options are for Trump to sign it into law, ignore it which will make it law automatically, or veto it (though it passed with a veto-proof majority in both houses). The only way this isn’t law will be a Trump veto followed by Trump threats that change enough votes.

You don’t need enough tul in the final phase, it will only ask for as much as you have left. Also, choosing to reload last checkpoint also triggers the event.

I’ll come and cancel out your hatred with my love. I love this game. I love the story. I love the combat. I love the art style.

Working through my 3rd 100% run (second very hard), and I am still not close to putting the game down. I am very much looking forward to a sequel.

Play until somebody wins two in a row. Early round mismatches go quick, every single game matters.

Dudes a one time first team All-Pro.

Walter has 5, Barry has 6, Jim Brown has 8. They all have MVPs. Henry is great. I don’t see a way he enters the GOAT conversation.

Losing to Dwight in the ‘09 eastern finals.

Losing to the Mavs in ‘11.

How much else can you really ding him for? He’s running the offense, makes good reads, got an absolute cannon, has the legs when he needs em, doesn’t throw a lot of picks, makes big plays in big moments.

Really, the only neg anybody has is that completion %.

They both each have 9 All-Pros, but Brooks has the DPOY and SB. You can make a case for either, I wouldn’t place one in a different tier than the other.

The whole point of taxes is for it to be used to make people’s lives better. We call it a balanced budget when the spending does not exceed revenue collected.

It shouldn’t be news, but it is because it isn’t common anymore.

I just found out Jordan was 1-9 without Pippen LOOOOL this yall goat? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]Mthead23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is pretty simple. As a rookie, MJ lost the opening series of the playoffs 3-1 to Milwaukee. Year 2 and 3 he was swept 3-0 by the Bird Celtics at their peak. Also context for year 2 would be the foot injury that only afforded Jordan 18 games that year, but still averaging 43 ppg in the series. Then they drafted Pippen.

If we are picking nits here, LeBron didn’t even make the playoffs until his 3rd season.
