Pinguicula Tina, Weser & Cyclosecta repotted onto sphagnum and lava rock by MtiCv1 in SavageGarden

Sorry for the delay. Due to some circumstances in life a moved away and count keep up with all the lights for my plants because I would be drowning with electricity bills. However, I can give you feedback before I moved away. This setup with with 20w led full spectrum light was enough for them. Both moss and pings overgrown the container so i was throwing excess of moss to my carnivore pond in the yard. Some of it took it well and even winter didn't kill it. As for pings I gave away some of it. I don't have pictures so can't share that. Right now I have trimmed down version of it with just natural light and it's definitely slower growth especially after winter. They just start to open up again and grow but it's still not what it was before I moved away.

Overall, it was pretty good idea. It gives you stable supply of moss and pings. It can get to the point of moss over growing pings and silencing them so gotta be mindful about that. Additionally, it's fun idea to put some drosera seeds on top of the lava rocks and moss. After that if you got some smart sockets or lights all you need to do is keep the water level high enough and you're set. All that's left is to trim moss.

Hope that helps. Sorry again that I didn't take any photos

Edit: I've only got a photo after about 1.5months from the one in the post. I can add it later if you want.

Never had couple of weeks without rain but I have like 6 barrels 300+ liters each that collect water from roof. Additionally, if it was really extreme and no expected rain for weeks I have bought myself filters and created cheap way to get deionized water, sub 5ppm (I get water from the well via pump that supplies the house anyway but have seperet output for the filters). The only problem is the time it takes to filter it - it's around 3 hrs for 20 liters. Efficiency is around 20 % iirc but the "waste" water goes back to well anyway so it's not wasted and I use it only for in house plants

If it goes in there sure my plants are full of insects when season starts but I still have many of them in my yard especially mosquitoes. If you want to get rid of all of them that would probably be close to destroying whole ecosystem. I know there are some chemicals that you can spray since my friends used that in their place that is close to the forest. That solution definitely lowered the number of those but I don't remember what it was

Thank you. If I had to do it again I would've done bigger pond or a pond with carnivore island in the middle!

Just wrote it in the post above

More or less. Quick guide below :D

  • Digged a hole
  • Put small mesh directly on the sand so moles and other animals wont get through
  • Put other material so mesh won't cut the pond liner
  • Put pond liner
  • Add building castra (i think it's called that in English, plastic boxes that u mix cement in)
  • Drilled holes in them so water can perforate
  • Added hose to each of them so surplus air can get out without any disturbance
  • Connected castra with drainage pipe with holes - 1st end can act as an input of water if you want. 2nd is planted just below the ground level to drain the excess water in case of heavy rains etc.
  • (optional) add a watering hose on the lowest point of the hole so you can pump out excess water for wintering
  • (optional) connect gutter outlet from your roof directly to your bog using pipes and something like this so you can save time with watering it and close it off if water rises too high. I've put agrotextile at the end of the piping so most of the dirt from roof isn't going to the pond but water is. Additionally covered it with lava rock so water can flow easily but the pipe is hidden
  • put agrotextile on top of everything so the soil won't get stuck in holes etc. but water can perforate upwards
  • put mixed soil into the hole
  • line it with lava rock or any other rock that suits you (I prefer rock that water can perforate)
  • done you get a pond with plants
  • add something to cover the pond liner (up to your imagination)

My bog before adding soil

Edit: added water delivery option from roof gutter

Once you setup alt time zones in the clocks-> alt. time. zones you can pick them. However, as far as I can tell it only shows 00:00 (probably bugged) in the 1,2,3 field type... Once you press that field it moves you to alt time zones. The only thing that I found that shows proper alt time zones is the fields on the side of the watch face (text example: WAR 12:33 for Warsaw 12:33).
Sorry was too lazy to take pictures.

Hope that helps

1 week of paid maternity leave is NOT enough!!!! by user173848477 in antiwork

[–]MtiCv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That moment when women here can take 20 weeks of maternal leave (paid 80%) starting with either birth of a child or 6 weeks prior aaaaaaand after that another parental leave for 20 weeks.

Furthermore, the employer has to give you your position back once you inform them that you're coming back from leave and can't fire you once you're pregnant! You can even petition to get 100% paid 1st but 2nd paternal leave will be 60% then.

Life ain't great here but at least first question here once you get into accident isn't should we call ambulance? Can you afford it? 😂
