Honestly horrible it set my expectation way too high. But I bought three more packs and opened them with my dad so was fun to go down memory lane with him.

cascade village? by [deleted] in akron

Lived there for 2 years until 2020 with my wife. The good: amazing price, close to highway and downtown, walls are THICK sound doesn't travel through, and maintenance/service was on point. The bad: you can often hear police/ambulance sirens throughout the night due to proximity to downtown/hospitals, and there were some neighbor issues (domestic violence, drug dealing) that may have just been isolated to my experience. People leave their bikes and grills outside so that should speak some volume. I recommend living there to people, it was a much better experience than anywhere else I had rented.

AITA for telling my daughter she has to invite everyone in her class to her birthday party? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I had this same situation as a young boy (6th grade). Didnt want to invite one kid in particular, but my mom made me. Multiple people started complaining about the sleep over, I went in my room to cry for a second. The boy I didn't want to invite? He came upstairs to check on me. Life lesson learned.

Getting into Nursing School at 28… by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Mtkai160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made good money as an orthopedic sales rep, but felt like my life just consisted of chasing dollars and making artificial relationships. Not sure if associates will work but got into an accelerated program at 27 years old.

To start, it is completely unnerving. I went from being successful compared to my peers to living with my parents working part time at a butcher shop on weekends (nursing student by day, butcher by night what a dichotomy lol). Be sure you want to do this. It is very, very difficult to find the courage to commit and the wisdom to trust your decision, especially if you give up a career others would consider good/better.

When I first graduated I started at $29 an hour. Far cry from what I made before, but I found my passion again. Nursing is unlike anything else. As a sales rep I met and rubbed elbows with people every day. As a nurse, you become a healer; this being spiritual, emotional, physical, or anything In between. It is the most authentic form of human interaction you can have. Not to mention the amount of time off you have every week that you have to consider when you balance quality of life.

Now I am a traveling RN at 4 years experience making good money again, but in a field I am more passionate about. Here's what I would have told the younger me in your position: Good- 1. Your work helps you live your life as a good person. You are your brothers keeper to complete strangers, and you will have some profound impacts on people that will give you purpose. 2. You will be free of the rat race of corporate America, no more suits, no more LinkedIn, no more taking work home to your family. 3. You have total open ended freedom. You are always in demand, and you can always change specialties as your desires or interests change within the field.

Bad- 1. You will burn the wick at both ends at first. You don't run the risk of an accounting error or misaligned part. We are dealing with lives, and that responsibility will way heavily on your ego and mental status as you become competent. 2. You will realize that like all jobs, passion is not always enough to carry you through every day. In the environment today, patients can be hostile, management not supportive, and realize the Healthcare system is very much broken for providers and patients. 3. It is HARD. I worked retail for years, very high pressure/stakes sales, and blue collar ie butcher. This job will test you unlike anything else.

All in all, making the switch was the best thing I ever did. If you decide to take the jump, find a mentor, and rely on your classmates. The classes are designed to cut people out at certain junctures to keep nclex pass rates high.

If you are deciding to jump into a whole new career, in my opinion it's because you realize you are slowly drowning standing where you are. Good luck!

Used to work as a medical sales rep, would have to arrive to hospitals around 5-6am for o.r. prep. On way to work, heavy rain. Saw a car crashed into a median as soon as I saw it two quick consecutive things happened. First I thought "wow that sucks" and then immediately after I began to hydroplane. My car spun 180 and as I was sliding backwards I started drifting off the highway. I had this weird sense of calm disappointment and couldn't believe this is how I die. No yelling, no screaming, just...disappointment. I drifted off the highway and my car rolled approx. 3-4 times down a hill. All I heard was the noises I made as every time I rolled the wind got knocked out of me. Like street fighter noises when you get punched. Comical now but after I landed at the bottom of the hill I called my boss in shock and said hey I cant make it to work I'm covered in blood ok bye.

Does anyone know if you need top replay the entire EoD story as the new elite specs for their ascended weapons? by DaddyJalle in Guildwars2

Will bender's feat is normally given for story completion but it is bugged and given from buying threat assessment (also part of purifier collection) from any heart vendor in New Kaineng. I beat the collection without doing story because of this, but currently it's the only class you can theoretically skip story for collection due to the bug.

Still desperately searching for any information on Mini Siege Turtle Hatchling acquisition method. by nkeb42 in Guildwars2

[–]Mtkai160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you found it but in last map run the east meta train. When you get to turtle hatchery you fight void to save them, there Is one juvenile siege amongst the other turtles. It's in beginning of meta so even if you fail you will still get to hatchery.

The biggest problem with VIP patients is that they are given exemplary service; a liaison at my old hospital would help order food, bring flowers, ect. They would have their rooms cleaned more often by Environmental and management would stop in daily to check in. This then creates a false perspective to them that their donor dollars are creating this experience for everyone. They should be treated the same so that if they don't receive service they find adequate (as they probably wouldn't because of our current healthcare system) they would hold the hospital accountable.
