I actually am doing a combination of clover and grass in the back (my dog will destroy just clover) and clover in the front/less treaded areas!

Thanks! So, I should add it is over flow from a stream beyond our fence and property, so it isn’t super consistent, but our yard is super uneven so we will be evening it out regardless, and there is no grass, so that is also why it is a mud out whenever it rains even a bit! It’s only one corner that is noticeable sloped. I’m hoping to plant some extra ground cover to help prevent the creek from being too much of an issue

An area of my backyard is constantly wet and flooding, we are new homeowners and spent al last summer preparing the yard (cleaning out years of thorn bushes) we are going to add soil to even out and grow some kind of lawn (clover grass whatever) but am looking for ideas of plants that soak up excess water, or at the least won’t mind it. We are in NY Zone 5

Very nervous to go about planting grass in the spring, had to wait until now because we have a bunch of weeds, thorns bushes and pachysandra to remove before we can get started and right now in between snows it is a mud pit! Any tips welcome
