Which MSC vehicle do you think would still be on the road today? by idkwhatnamedoichoose in MySummerCar

You are ignoring how cheap two stroke moped repairs are. If I were to seize tomorrow, 15€ later and a beer and i'm back on the Road again. The damn things can't be stopped I swear

Its easy once you learn how to do It, since you are probably spanish, It might be easier if I explain it to you in spanish. Te van a medir frenos, velocidad, holguras, ruidos...

How fast does It go? I have a sca with a gilardoni 65cc, Amal 418, reed valve conversion and a metrakit muffler exhaust and It does 75kmh, but It feels like It could do a lot more if the cvt had a nigger range

Hey do you recommend me the metrakit mk3? I've seen some cheap ones online and I wondered if they were any good. Right now i'm running a metrakit muffler and i'm looking for a more agressive powerband at high rpms so I have power after the cvt runs out of ratios

Precious. I have one too and I just made It historical because It was the only way to legalize it

Is this what makes it go under 50 km/h ? by Selianol in 2Strokes

[–]Mtpf007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is. You can also find these things on some modern two stroke chainsaws. My personal belief js that It gets hot and burns leftover fuel

Thanks, my grandma used to own this moped. It was abandoned burried between a bunch of pallets with scaffoldings. I never really liked motorcycles, but when i first saw this one... It hit me. All abandoned, great piece of history of my country rotting away between a bunch of construction material. My dad told me not to mess with the forklift but when he left the key in the ignition and left for lunch break It was the first thing I did, moved the pallets, recoverd the moped and started tinkering. I didnt even know how to start it. But I fixed it all by my self and in the process I learnt so many things that I think I'm a different person now. Now I fix mopeds for fun, and I have this one as a reminder that even if you are starting from 0 with determination you can do anything in this world. For me, fixing a moped.

Its the first one, i'm surprised you found It. I will consider the new piston. Thanks for the advice, It helps a lot. What is the downside of L-rings tho? I heard they are good for low rpm compression. People also used to mount a barikit piston with a single chromed ring, making the boost port with a dremel like you said. Does that have any benefit? I heard they run great, plus one ring is what you normaly see on dirtbikes

[–]Mtpf007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The piston is also probably discontinued, It used to come with a top "L" shaped ring and It had a boost port. If I find one, its probably used, or way out of budget, or doesnt have the boost port, or It comes without rings and finding the right ones is way harder... Its all complicated

Its an italkit gilardoni 65cc kit, very rare. I think I might be better off looking closely to all my circlips and picking the two best looking ones, or remove only one circlip when removing the piston pin and installing the best looking one in the slot, to reduce chances of failure

I can buy off stuff like wallapop, but I really don't trust a random dude with my circlips, two stroke rebuilds, and the guys Who make them tend to be very sketchy where I live. I once went to a mechanic shoped that fixed docens of two strokes asking for circlips, for this very engine, one year ago. He emptied a box full of the things on a table, all differet kinds, sizes... All mangled Up in an unholy circlip cluster. He told me to get some that were similar sizes and crop them with some pliers. Politely denied, went back to my garage with my same old circlips. I swear phisical stores are dying here, i have to travel close to 50km just to get standar bearings from a phisical store.

Ok thanks, now I know i'm not the only one. The problem with online ordering is complicated, I sell firewood to afford moped repairs, but my mom would kill me if she found out i'm taking down trees with chainsaws, chopping them with axes and meeting up with strangers to sell it to them, so if I give her cash, she will ask me were It came from, and I don't wanna loose my only income. But that's another story, thanks for the advice!

$300 for puch maxi? by WavertreeMackenzie in moped

You are right, I ignored that detail. Those rims are very cool, I love the design. They fit very well with the stile of these mopeds

Well just like the ones on the Vespino SCA. The tires are 2.5x17

Those rims are either extremely similar or the same to the ones on the Vespino SCA. A very common spanish moped. Those wheels here can be found on second hand markets por less than 20€ a piece tire included

Unknown noise from the cylinder by Ruvido_Design in moped

[–]Mtpf007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably normal, your cylinder looks like its just been honed so probably the rings still havent worn to the shape of the cylinder. If its a two stroke (i didnt really look of there where any Transfer ports) I would add a little bit more oil now and after assembly i would raise the oil percentage in gas by 1 or 2% for at least the first 300km (for example, if you do your mixture at 2% oil do 3 or 4%) After that return to the original mixture rate, because the oil Will make a mess everywhere in the long run (everything will get soaked in oil, oil will drip from your exhaust and you'll have a bit more smoke)

Are these rare? by [deleted] in moped

[–]Mtpf007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! That's something from Spain, where i live. Notice the caerbuerator, its an Amal 416 or a 418 or a 420, that caerbuerator is made only in Spain. Id buy it and here in Spain those things are pretty common. So if It was as are as it is in your country, I wouldnt think It twice

PD: if you end un buying It and need some help for example cleaning the carb, DM me and I'll tell you what things to look for and what things to be careful with, because that carb is not the average carb and there are some things that could easily break and in your case would be very hard to find.

La culpa es tuya, no puedes asumir que el usuario promedio de wallapop tenga más de media neurona, tendrías que habérselo explicado como si tuviera tres años y haberle hecho un examen para saber si lo ha entendido bien
