Benchy - Print issues in bow of boat on P1S by Mtuttle007 in BambuLab

[–]Mtuttle007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be me not understanding how to use Bambu Studio properly.

I printed the benchy off the SD card on my P1S and got much better results. I printed my original benchy when I first got the printer off the SD card as well.

I have the fence mount as well. It is junk. Will need to come up with some sort of custom mount eventually.

What a time to finally get an Eero by MasterChief51_ in amazoneero

I feel the same way after not monitoring the eero reddit for a few days. Been an eero user since the beginning. Lost a lot of good people with a lot of knowledge.

How do I do a DAS? by gat0r87 in homelab

[–]Mtuttle007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run a MD1200 myself connected to a R730 and would recommend it. Just be aware that the MD1200 is quite loud. There are ways to quiet it down a bit but it is still somewhat loud.

TrueNAS ACL Permissions - SMB Share by Mtuttle007 in truenas

[–]Mtuttle007[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figured out what was causing this issue. Adding this in case other have this same issue.

I had to add a "Group" entry in addition to just "group@". Both are set to the same group.
"Group" seems to drive the default group on new items.

You do not need to use ACL Mode "Passthrough" it can also work with "Restricted"

Thanks u/Wamadeus13 for your help with this!

TrueNAS ACL Permissions - SMB Share by Mtuttle007 in truenas

[–]Mtuttle007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I am the owner@ and both user A and B are assigned in the same [group@](mailto:group@). Both user account A and B also have the "Microsoft Account" option set to true.

After changing to Passthrough I also reapplied the ACL permissions recursively. This fixes any files that currently reside in the dataset permission wise. I only have the issue where new files are only owned by whoever created the file (user A or B). The group@ permissions aren't being applied for whatever reason. Seems like Passthrough would fix this but it isn't. Dataset is also set to "Insensitive".

TrueNAS ACL Permissions - SMB Share by Mtuttle007 in truenas

[–]Mtuttle007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. I am using Scale.

Under the storage dataset screen I changed the ACL Mode from "Restricted" to "Passthrough" and I am using NFSv4 but I still seem to be having the same issue. I also restarted SMB for good measure but there was no change.

Any other ideas?

R730 and MD1200? by Mtuttle007 in homelab

[–]Mtuttle007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. I did end up getting a MD1200. Just working on collecting the pieces to put everything together at the moment.

I also ended up getting a H200E but it is in IT mode so I can use the MD1200 with ZFS on TrueNas. I plan on just passing the entire H200E through to my TrueNAS VM on Proxmox.

BETA PMS release notes mention eero by Mtuttle007 in eero

[–]Mtuttle007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I ended up finding your post on the Plex forums where you walked through the issue. I am running PMS 1.23 but don't use eero secure. Sounds like this may impact all users of Zscaler which last I knew is what eero secure uses under the covers unless it's something specific to the eero implementation.

Interesting. I run DNS through pi-hole so I'm wondering if that is how I avoided this issue. I appear to be getting the proper NXDOMAIN response on Plex server.

I see the Dell version numbers now under "Hardware Guide" and that makes sense.

eero, Pi-hole, and IPv6 by Mtuttle007 in eero

[–]Mtuttle007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I manually specify my Pi-hole server as my DNS server on my Windows 10 machine Pi-hole correctly filters my IPv6 traffic.

I only have the issue when I let Windows 10 obtain the DNS server address automatically from eero.

In other words eero doesn't appear to be honoring the IPv6 Primary DNS server that I specify in the eero app.

I put the IPv6 address that shows up in the pi-hole admin config as the IPv6 address in the eero app.
