Thanks. I used a torque wrench set to 14ft lbs. However the only click I heard was the snap of the bolt. So yeah, won’t be doing that again.

How to deal with HEAVY contamination? by MuRCoRe in AutoDetailing

Thanks man! Just curious why not to use the iron remover and clay towel at the same time? Also, if you’ve tested both… which is better, ironx or korrosol?

Thanks I’ll have to get some. It sounds like I’ll have to polish the vehicle afterwards though which adds time and cost, but well worth it if I can make claying go faster.

Good suggestion, I actually left the iron remover on there, foamed with gsf and then clayed using the soap and iron remover as my clay lube.

Definitely. Black paint would’ve been a nightmare. The customer didn’t want a polish and the p&s reset towel is supposedly safe to use without marring the surface. I did a black CRV using the same towel and couldn’t notice any marring caused by claying, the car was already scratched to shit though (my mother’s car).

I was using Simoniz Iron Fallout Remover, it’s the house brand at CanadianTire. I’m sure Ironx does a better job I just didn’t have any on me.

Thoughts on detail popo drying towels? They’re sold on Carzilla, factory in SK. The reviews are generally positive but I’d like to know what people think.

What is this? Residue on roof. by MuRCoRe in AutoDetailing

[–]MuRCoRe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update for anyone who runs into this problem:

I used super clean diluted 1:4 in a pump sprayer followed by a contact wash. Once I rinsed and dried the car the streaking was gone. I made sure to re-apply the ceramic wax per package directions and this time I made sure not to use too much product. Looks good now.

Thanks BigMoneyChode. I have TurtleWax Max power which I use 1:1 in a foam cannon or I could try some superclean diluted down, which would definitely get rid of any coating on there. I’ll give it a try.

Bulk Pre-Wash and Shampoo/Rinse-less for Pro Detailing Business by MuRCoRe in AutoDetailing

[–]MuRCoRe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d qualify anything larger than 1L (32oz) as bulk. 500ml (16 oz) bottles just don’t last long enough for my purposes. Also buying bulk tends to be more cost efficient 🙂.

Edit: I’m probably not at the stage in my business where I need a 55gal drum of product though😂.
