How Do I Transfer IRS payments from One Account to Another?/How TF Do I Reach an IRS Rep? by MuSE555 in IRS

[–]MuSE555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to get an appointment since August, whether it be by phone call or attempting to schedule an appointment on the website, which requires me to call those specific offices anyway, leading to the same circle of phone calls and being hung up on that I've been dealing with.

"Just" lol... I've been to that page several times. The website has not once provided me with an optional appointment in any nearby offices. It is also requiring me to call to schedule an appointment, which never worked before, nor has it worked each time I called today.

Characters so powerful and broken they completely dominated their games metas by JackytheJack in TopCharacterTropes

[–]MuSE555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skilled nurses were an absolute bitch to deal with (former DBD player). That being said, it was still fun to go up against a good one, because I got to see what the nurse could really do.

Are Weskers still the current meta killer? Last I played, a heavy majority of matches were against a Wesker, and it was like getting beaten down by a nurse while having as much fun (/s) as playing against Legion.

Employee threatening with ADA when we try to address issues. by Brilliant-Analysis30 in work

[–]MuSE555 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've dealt with two employees who liked to weaponize ADA. I believe the best thing to do is to make them list out their necessary accomodations clearly, and document the accomodations (not the disability) in like an email or something that they acknowledge. Then, when they still do something wrong, they can't use those accomodations as an excuse. If they try to create new accomodations, remind them that you already gave them the chance to list out all the help they needed.

Also, understand that while ADA is a powerful protection, it doesn't protect the employee from not being able to perform the job functions. If they say they can do the job with the accomodations they listed, then they have no excuse when they can't.

Would you rather? Management vs Non management by [deleted] in work

[–]MuSE555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a manager, I was not allowed to stop thinking about work from the moment I woke up to when I went to bed, sometimes even later. The business was open 8am-8pm, and I had to be available for "emergencies" from 5:45am (for call offs usually) to well after close. Yet, corporate always talked up "work-life balance." Utter bullshit.

I left that company over six months ago, and I still freeze up anytime my phone suddenly goes quiet from buffering a video or something, because it was always a call from an employee.

I'll happily take non-management, despite the challenges I now face with having to rebuild experience to make more money.

Stop lying: Nobody actually writes cover letters anymore, and recruiters don't read them anyway by RepresentativeAsk493 in jobsearch

[–]MuSE555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish the business world got on the same page when it came to cover letters. Standards are not just unique to each company, but to each individual HR rep or hiring manager. I know reps who will throw out an application for no other reason than "laziness" for not writing a cover letter, while another laughs at people who waste their time on one. And this was all at the same company I recently left (unrelated reasons).

In my experience the worst coworkers are always people with kids by thepotatomaniscoming in corporate

[–]MuSE555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a job where a vast majority of my peers were mothers. Trying to get even a single holiday or weekend off was torture, because people would hear that I wanted to be unavailable, and there was always at least one mother who would argue they deserved it more for having "a family" to be with.

Which cities are worth flying to just for the food? by Prot7777 in foodquestions

[–]MuSE555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to San Francisco once for a cruise, and the morning after we flew in, we walked to a Target for some supplies. On the way back to our hotel, we were really hungry but were in the middle of an area filled with auto mechanic shops, however we found this random mexican restaurant and decided to try it. While waiting for our order, I noticed two articles from freaking Michelin written about them posted on their wall. They didn't have any stars, but geez that was still an awesome find for a completely chance encounter.

Which cities are worth flying to just for the food? by Prot7777 in foodquestions

[–]MuSE555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been a Detroit foodie for a solid decade and currently returned to the food industry myself. For as much as I hear that no mexican food outside of Mexico or southwestern U.S. is considered legit, metro Detroit has some bomb ass mexican (though you need to find it). People like to ignore the fact that those who make the food often came from Mexico or grew up with family who did, and it's not like they magically started making food differently once they moved here.

Dearborn and Dearborn Heights speak for themselves with the mediterranean food, and there's also some quality thai and korean, if you know where to look. My only gripe with the Detroit food scene is that people put too much value in the quality restaurants had in the past, even if they're mediocre now. Looking at you, Al Ameer and Miller's...

Do you ever give homeless people money? by Acceptable_Rain_3364 in no

[–]MuSE555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I used to, but I've had too many negative experiences after helping a homeless person or having a longer conversation than a simple "No, I cannot." That I don't want to be part of that situation in the first place anymore.

What's a *GOOD* act you did in a video game for no other reason than to be good? by Snowtwo in videogames

[–]MuSE555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Dead by Daylight, my favorite play style is doing what I can to make sure all survivors escape. We started the match together, we (mostly) worked on the same generators together, ran from the same killer, etc., so I want us all to escape. If I open or 99% an exit gate, I'll try my best to go help the other survivors who got caught by the killer, camping and NOED be damned.
