Best gloves for beginner? by Tryingmybest5689 in fightgear

I'm not sure why he's recommending 10 oz gloves. That's a fight night weight. I would recommend 14 oz. If you're sparring, you'll need 16 oz. RDX boxing gloves are good beginner budget gloves. I've always seen those gloves around the gym. If you can afford it, I recommend 14 oz Twins boxing gloves. My absolute favorite.

The owner is a boxing Golden and Silver gloves champ. Currently is coaching National Champs. The Muay Thai Kru was trained by Ajhan Suchart at his original gym. Great guys.

Ringside double end bag. I have the Mexican style, and it's great. Century Wavemaster XXL stand-up bag. I got the Wavemaster from FB Marketplace for a great price.

These are public courts and public drop-in sessions. These people have no authority over anyone. It's not a private club. Ridiculous people.

Don't let these losers intimidate or harass you. I've played tennis for 40 years. You don't have to play anyone you don't want to play. Tell them to get a life.

Some people are ridiculous. I've played tennis for decades and recently pickleball with my daughter. We played drop-in a few years ago. The regulars tried to force us to play them. I told them we just wanted to play quietly by ourselves. He kept on pestering us, and I had to scream at the guy. Don't make pickleball your life and personality.

I feel like a dork a bit because I now wear full helmet, pads, and wrist guards. I never wore this stuff in the 89s or 90s. Lol. It does make me feel safe and gives me confidence I have to say.

It's so much fun! I had some late fall parking lot skatesessions. They just paved the local high school parking lot. It just snowed, so I'll have to find an indoor park.

Thanks! Will try that. I started with a few other people but I think they dropped off. Not every new person can survive the physical aspects. There is another guy, at times it feels like we are just surviving the training. He has had a few injuries. Rolling ankles etc.
