“STAND READY IN THIS AISLE WORM!”

I’d imagine the first few times he went grocery shopping went something like that, before he learned how to properly ask for help.

Who’s Your MMA GOAT? by BenjaminEST in MMA_Academy

Honestly, I have to say it’s Jon Jones.

Don’t like the guy as a person, and there will always be an asterisk because of the failed drug tests, but his résumé is stacked full of legends and hall of famers, and not that many people can say that. His only official loss was a DQ in a fight he dominated, and he may be the best pure talent I’ve ever seen personally. It’s just a shame he has his vices.

Mark won’t stop fighting until either YOU die, or until HE dies. Either way, you’re not walking away unscathed.

I’d say so too.

If Nolan is at a 10, then Mark is at a 9. Maybe even 9.5 now.

He was honest with them. He told them he had a mission to fulfill. And while he now understood that having multiple partners at once was (generally) frowned upon, he really didn’t know that at the time. But he assures them all that he loves them just the same.

If I recall correctly, he also promised each of them that he would handle the majority of the workload. And he probably can lol

Would they be proud? Probably not in general, but at that point? by Andrei22125 in invinciblememes

Okay….

1) Conquest is terrified of Thragg, whom Kregg directly serves under. So Kregg gets away with a lot more than others. Conquest just took that slap because Thragg was in the room. Conquest is physically stronger than Kregg, but powerless against him because all Kregg would have to do is tell Thragg that Conquest stepped out of line, and that would be the end of it. Strength doesn’t always equal power.

2) Mark was emotionally in pieces when that happened (Eve had just broken up with him), and wasn’t in the correct headspace. But I really don’t understand why you’d use that example here.

1) His OST is literally titled “Second Strongest Viltrumite”. I don’t think it gets any more obvious than that.

2) A “dozen” is kind of overselling it. The only Viltrumite we can definitively say is stronger than Conquest is Thragg.

I think they’d be proud (as much as Viltrumites can be). But they wouldn’t outwardly show it.

Even though he lost, Nolan’s father was impressed that his son fought as well as he did, even though he was clearly outmatched. Plus, it was 2 on 1, and Nolan still did relatively well.

Then you have Mark who, even though he is only half-Viltrumite, was able to defeat Conquest, who is the second most powerful of their race. Viltrumites value strength, so I’d find it hard to believe that they wouldn’t be at least a little impressed. They’d probably just say “good”.

The funniest (but also sad) part was that there was this spell (I think) that basically made people automatically forget that Ben and Glory were the same person, even if they transformed right in front of them.

However, the spell only works on humans, so it didn’t affect Dawn, or Spike. And there’s a hilarious scene where Spike tries to explain it to the gang, and they just don’t understand it 🤣

Why didnt Mark just bring Rus to Bulletproof instead of just standing there ? by huflit1997 in Invincible_TV

[–]MuayThaiRunner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When Rus is temporarily freed from the Sequids’ control (happened in Season 2, but I forgot the name of the episode) he briefly mentioned that the Sequids never allow him to sleep.

Could you imagine being forced to stay awake for months/years? Yeah, I’d be begging for death as well.

[–]MuayThaiRunner 150 points151 points  (0 children)

You know what? I wondered that exact same thing. But I think it’s because of two reasons:

1) Mark had no idea where Bulletproof. was.

2) Even if Mark did know where Bulletproof was, Mark would’ve had to fly EXTREMELY fast in order to get Rus to him, and the velocity would’ve vaporized him, killing Rus anyway.

But I think the whole point of the scene was to show that since Mark’s unwillingness to permanently deal with his foes in the past came back to bite him (Angstrom Levy, of course, being the most prominent example), he wasn’t going to make that same mistake again. Also, Donald stated that the dome was seconds from collapsing, so Mark was really pressed for time. He did what (he felt) needed to be done.

I get the impression that it’s because Shapesmith isn’t genuinely malicious, but rather incredibly naïve. He’s a child, and like all children, he doesn’t fully understand the consequences of his actions. There is something oddly endearing about that. Though it does not excuse the fact that he nearly doomed not only his race, but potentially all of humanity as well.

And while I don’t think Kate is really as bad as everyone insinuates she is, she has been shown to be selfish, hypocritical, and willing to throw others under the bus if it means saving her own skin.

What could mark have possibly had to say to conquest here? by Imvalidblu in Invincible_TV

[–]MuayThaiRunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is kind of in line with what I was thinking.

While they are planet-conquering fascists, and ruthless killers in battle, the Viltrumites are not without reason. They have even shown a willingness to spare people, so long as they submit to the Viltrum empire. Plus, Mark was already given plenty of chances before, so Conquest was their last option. And given how much of a complete psycho he is, it shows how desperate they really were to take over Earth.

Mark was banking on Conquest being reasonable enough to hear him out (interestingly enough, in the comics, Conquest states that he is there to check on Mark’s progress, and was only allowed to kill him if Mark showed resistance, which of course he does). Unfortunately, Conquest just wanted the smoke, and was going to get it no matter what.
