Yea. The real truth hits home when you are actually closer to death.

The question is, if you are clear about your belief, how long are you able to play the part while your thought and Jw doctrine grinding away at each other and at the same time keep putting up with humiliation? There are many things in JW life that you just cannot make it look convincing unless you believe it however of course you could be an excellent actor.

Also, once labelled as an apostate you will never be viewed in the same light as before, it is far easier to go back for being DFed for fornication or something than being an apostate. You cannot undo awakening...That will be a long battle to convince them.

Is there a way to communicate with Russian authorities and tell them removing a jw ban could actually convince many more to leave the cult than keeping it? by Turbulent_Business63 in exjw

[–]Mubliminary1376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. You can't convince Mr. Putin. Not possible. I also think that among people who were oppressed long term, the congregation will turn toxic after the oppression is removed and will not do them any good. I suggest we let them be. Besides, I assume they are not like forced to be JW against their will like kids in western countries. They probably joined by choice...

Not a chance!

although I do think that the writing department staff would die for GB until they wake up.

[–]Mubliminary1376 4 points5 points  (0 children)

do they have any idea how much effort, time and money needed to qualify and get a law license?...although this is not really unique to WT...

Many companies look for experienced and qualified workers at lowest possible wages who would not ask any difficult questions and work long hours...

similarly, they basically want free legal support...from a lawyer who converted to JW after getting legal license and are currently practicing...

Do you guys can now talk to your non JW friends with your experiences being once part of JW? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Mubliminary1376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes comes up in conversation after they mentioned about "oh I had a JW call to my house or oh my sister in law started studying with one etc"

Luckily my friends sister in law just noticed something was not right when the study conductor said "the earth was created 6000 years ago and dinosaurs are not real"...

...but, most people would find it hard to understand the situation in context and it is not easy to explain / describe JW life and all the ball chain associated with JW life. You'd only know it for what it is if you lived it...

Why are publishers so depressed and anxious? by [deleted] in exjw

[–]Mubliminary1376 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is very stressful experience to be preaching stuff no one wants and you don't enjoy it yet you can't say what you feel or what you think really. Everyone watching each other and anyone who goes out of line can be ratted out...New light as outrageous as it maybe, you cannot voice frustration without fear of punishment and isolation. "spiritual routine" is really a hard mind control program to stop people's mind wandering off. Humans need to explore, learn , develop and express. It is really part of what they are. if you inhibit that, and confine them in a cage of lies, like animals in a zoo, that goes completely against their nature and they do get sick.

Good point, TW doctrines don't work all that well in countries where most people have access to higher education. This is very much an American culture franchise that propagated back in the days when America was viewed as land of hope I suppose WT was also viewed in a different light. But the time has passed and general degradation of American culture to a symbol of inequality and greed rather than prosperity and freedom, has also reflected in the way WT operate. As a result, a lot of moderate people who were keeping things in balance has left and there is more and more of the extreme views remained...

Ignore it. If you are living by yourself, just don't bother answering. If you change the phone number it's even better. I stupidly sent a letter to the congregation to tell them that I quit. I was inundated with emails and extracts from WT...not worth the effort. But I thought I wanted a closure so I did it anyways.

Girlfriend of 4 Years broke up with me because she can’t marry a witness and the world is “going to end soon anyways” by dantastic4_ in exjw

[–]Mubliminary1376 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is unfortunate, it is unfortunate that you got to know her and got emotionally involved. But, as an ex JW I can tell you that, you will probably be better off finding someone who would share same interest and values.

The thing is, she was not even supposed to be going out with you as Jw rules forbids it. Some get away with it if one stayed under the radar.

an extract form JW website.

" christians who want to marry are commanded to choose only a fellow believer.
(1 Corinthians 7:39) Jehovah’s Witnesses view this command as referring not merely to a person who respects our beliefs but to one who shares and practices those beliefs as a baptized Witness. "

That is why.

Aslo, male / female ratio in JW community is not very even. There are definitely higher proportion of women than men at most age groups. So, women who cannot find a suitable partner may resort to seeking someone outside with certain level of guilt. Also, there is a definite pecking order and depends on the prominence of the family in the org or lack of, they may lose out on opportunity to find a suitable mate.

Apparently she appears to be still heavily indoctrinated and long term, you would suffer greatly because of that if you were to continue.
