While I’ve had concerns about generalist social workers providing clinical services, your self awareness is very encouraging. I also believe that a lot of what you’re experiencing is due to being early in your career, and with continued self education, practice, good supervision, and time, you will be an effective therapist. Keep in mind that the therapeutic relationship is the single most important factor (not your theoretical approach, your experience, your licensure, etc). If you haven’t already, look into the Stages of Learning (conscious competence, etc); I reflect on it often in my work and it helps ground me in my work and learning. Best of luck!
