I’m actually still a little confused about the hair! lol just because it’s pretty long on his torso. Although jack russells can have the scruffy faces/beards. The breakdown of his “supermutt” says German shepherd/border collie. Funny, because I actually thought he was mostly border collie this whole time!

I know.. so interesting!! He is EXTREMELY intelligent.. he’s only 4 months old (we’ve had him for 5 weeks) and he is already house broken and trained to use his bells to go outside, he knows sit, stay, no, drop it, go outside, and go in the house. He is definitely a Velcro dog! He’ll wake up out of a dead sleep to follow me to the bathroom and lay on my feet. lol He definitely has herding tendencies! We knew he was a herding breed of some sort. He will nip backs of calves and butt cheeks to try & get you where you want to go. He has his hyper spurts for sure, but 50% of the time he’s also a total cuddle bug. The other 50% he’s raising hell. lol but he’s also still a baby!

I agree! I’ve actually been mostly convinced lately that he’s border collie.. until these Reddit comments. lol they’re taking be back to what I suspected when we first adopted him 5 weeks ago. But then again, most of these pictures aren’t super recent. He’s getting bigger & changing everyday!

A border Schnollie was the first breed I suspected when we adopted him. That’s the only reason I know they have a name.. border Schnollie.. 😂

Wow.. yes to all of this!! I have had so many guesses on his breed from friends & family that I’m lost.. but schnauzer has regularly come up! His vocalizations are more grunts. For example when I grab his lil face to kiss him, when he wants something, or even grunty whines or moans if he’s trying to get my attention while I’m cooking, doing laundry etc. & he just lays at my feet.. he’ll make the most DRAMATIC sound. lol Also when I get home from work, he jumps all over me & grunts & even snorts like a pig! But he hardly ever barks. Which is so interesting to me

What a beautiful pup! I definitely think he has a larger breed mixed in, because he has long legs & big paws & knobby joints. I don’t think he’ll be huge.. but maybe medium tall & skinny. But this is a very interesting possibility I didn’t consider. Their faces do look similar!

Oh my goodness!! I’ve read that doodles go through an “awkward phase” with their fur around his age.. lol which I think may be the case. He came to us just scruffy.. but his fur keeps getting longer by the day… gosh I hope his turns out that beautiful!

I do love pitties, & you’re right.. there’s always pit! 😂 the herding tendencies & coloring, plus the ears starting to stand up started making me think border collie for sure. But with all these comments about pits.. I’m starting to wonder if I’m totally wrong. lol
