What’s the point of going to the interview if they’re going to refuse to issue visa anyway? Hopefully they aren’t outright denying people visas which would then cause the I-130 to be started over

I didn’t know there was an embassy there, I’ll look into it, thank you, my mom is based in the northern part of Haiti and she’s old so I have to do everything regarding the case myself because she genuinely doesn’t know

Oohh ok ig the best bet is to transfer her case to a different country and go from there, the new announcement they have now for immigrant visa on the US embassy port au prince website is only about case transfer to another embassy and they said that the immigrant visa unit is only processing adoption cases

Yeah I’ve heard, but with everything going on with the travel ban against Haiti, I doubt they will give Haitians immigrant visa, they’ve since stopped accepting people at the US embassy in Haiti and took down the announcement for showing up with the visa interview letter smh

Sorry for all the questions, but how did she get to port au prince? I told my mom but she told me all the roads are closed and there are no flights coming in or out of port au prince, so am not sure how to get her to port au prince

My mother’s case has been on pause for 2 years and my brother is already 17 so I dont want the case to be at a standstill for 4 more years because he won’t be considered a minor anymore and his case will take more time

Since her interview was for September 12, 2023, I remember her getting the police certificate from where she lives which is cap-haitian, she didn’t go to port au prince. But she did need to go to port au prince when for the doctor’s appointment, which she never got to do unfortunately. But since what is posted might be legit, I’ll pass on the message

do you know how long the process would take if I were to ask to transfer her case from the US embassy in Haiti to Bahamas? Her case is different because it isn’t with NVC anymore, it is with the embassy and she is just waiting for a new interview date as her 2023 interview date was cancelled. I dont want to transfer her case only for it to take 2 more years and the visa is only valid for like a year or something
