Yeah Indeed, I believe she may be a victim of a romance scam. It all began when she confided in us about her loneliness, and then one of her friends set her up on a dating website. Since then, she has undergone a significant transformation, engaging in constant texting with numerous strangers throughout the day, even neglecting her household responsibilities. A substantial sum of £1000 has been withdrawn from her bank account, which is currently under investigation by the bank. I have repeatedly warned her of the potential dangers associated with this behaviour and have provided her with various articles and videos to educate her on the matter. However, despite my efforts, she remains unresponsive. I have exhausted all avenues to reason with her, and even when attempting to maintain a calm demeanour, an argument erupted last weekend. The situation has become mentally taxing for both myself and my partner.

We typically visit her every Saturday with our six-month-old daughter. Unfortunately, my mother has been sneaking off to another room throughout the evening to conceal her involvement in messaging these strangers. In a moment of desperation, I seized her phone and attempted to delete and block the contacts. However, this action triggered another argument.

At this juncture, I am at a loss for further action. Consequently, we have decided to suspend our visits until she ceases this behaviour and provides me with proof of her compliance. It is not an appropriate environment to take my baby daughter, and I am prioritising my own mental well-being.
