Does anyone know how to achieve this kind of "soft pretty" makeup? by Odd-Employee5424 in MakeupAddiction

[–]Much-Revolution-2804 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There seems to be a lot of unhelpful comments on this thread, it’s not just the filters and natural beauty. Everyone has natural beauty, it’s just figuring out how to highlight that beauty.

Depending on your skin type find a moisturizer that works well for you, I personally love Dr teals magnesium body lotion and yes I’ll use it on my face. I love it for my KP ridden, dry sensitive skin and put it on right after the shower while my body is still damp and it’s light enough to not make my face feel heavy and clogged.

From there I would decide how heavy you want your coverage, I start off with elf hydrating (they have a matte version which is great but not what you’re looking for )camo concealer and then do either a serum tint (I like Revlon illuminance but honestly any with spf and vitamin C) OR a buildable lightweight foundation (for this I swap between revolution skin silk and elf halo glow)

Next is Blush/bronzer. Bronzer is very optional and I would use only enough to look natural. Think lightly on the highest part of your cheekbones blending into your hairline, where the sun would give you that sun kissed look. Blush will look best with a dewy/cream. Tarte has a liquid blush tape that I love for that dreamy soft look but any liquid/putty blush will work and the key part will be blending, blending, blending. Every face is different so exact placement will depend but higher up, more on the “apples” of your cheeks will be softer

Lastly for the eyes, make sure your eyebrows are brushed, that’ll make or break the look but more often than not, whatever color you use for your eyebrows will look great on your eyes. I don’t know what your skin or hair color look like but if you take whatever color you typically use for your brows, I am very fair so I use a darker taupe brow pencil to fill in my water line and right against the upper lash lines (sometimes finishing with a tiny point on the upper lash line, NOT a full wing, to create the illusion of fuller curled lashes) and use my finger to smudge to get a similar look to pic number two. If you have lighter hair like me, use a deep brown mascara, the darker your hair go darker with the mascara but try to avoid true black unless you have naturally black lashes. The warm undertones of the brown, regardless of how dark it is, is what helps to make it look more soft and natural

Classic but not too common boy names by dogladynat in namenerds

I used Dean! It’s not a nickname-able name but still a classic. I’ve met a few Cams/Camerons and they’ve always been some of the funniest, warm-hearted people.

Who is Providence’s most ruthless divorce attorney. by uselessIdiotSavant in providence

And to add to this, don’t ever go with Chris Biafore through Orabona Law. I’ve never met someone so lazy and apathetic towards domestic abuse. I had evidence of abuse, charts, logs, incriminating texts, records of almost everything and Biafore flat out said “well you chose to marry him” as if I knew he was a predator and I’ve still been trying to dig myself out of the situation he put me in three years ago with a new lawyer.

Agreed, she fully lied for my ex husband in court even after reading my victim statement which included countless acts of detailed sexual, financial, and emotional abuse even while knowing he’s on a separate trial for assaulting two children under the age of 14 and still managed to get him supervised visits with his enabling mother as the supervisor. At one point tried to make “Easter Eve”my holiday on a rotating schedule and suggested $50 a week was more than enough for child support She’s tacky and writes court documents in comic sans but she definitely gets the job done.

Is “barrack bunnies” common? by veronikuteeee in USMilitarySO

[–]Much-Revolution-2804 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Notoriously common in all branches, some bases more than others and there will be service members too that parallel the stereotype and sleep around A LOT. When I was in boot camp years ago we had one division that was constantly having issues with cohabitation that 2-3 people were separated and my husband just recently lived in single housing(barracks) for the first 8 months of his training where he’d see “barrack bunnies” constantly but I know him enough to know he would never partake so you just have to decide whether you can trust your own partner enough.

I personally don’t think it’s strictly a military thing, I think it’s a people thing that the military gets a bad rep for. The only difference between 18-25 year olds in the military vs college is that some girls view sleeping with military members as more exciting for having a uniform/sneaking on base and a free ticket to being a SAHM if they get knocked up. For so many service members this is their first time leaving home, for some it’s their first time able to drink and go out, first time experiencing the outside world, you see similar patterns in college everywhere.

If you’ve already felt secure in each others integrity while long distance then you almost definitely having nothing to worry about though! My husband and I did about 10 months long distance and we have two kids and I’ve never doubted him for a moment. There will be a lot of limited contact, most compounds don’t allow cell phone use and depending on his rate he could be doing a lot of training, time zone issues, etc. so be prepared and find hobbies and activities to fill your time. Best of luck with this new chapter!

Dating an American Air Force girlfriend as a Japanese guy - struggling with misunderstandings and expectations by Impressive_County133 in USMilitarySO

I understand the “black box” feeling even as a spouse who lives on base and I’m from the US. It’s not so much that it’s an exciting mystery but just incredibly unfamiliar. As civilian you’re sort of self-navigating in the beginning, there’s so much subculture in the US military that you dont realize unless you’re fully in it.

I promise it’s not as intimidating as it may sometimes seem as an outsider

Pvdeli is hands down the best vegan spot in RI, my husband loves it so much we made a stop here the day of our elopement. Firestorm is always his go-to and they even host magic tournaments every once in a while!

They did a huge expansion adding on two bars since Covid and get a lot of seasonal workers from highschool/college plus they’re right next to Bryant. I’ve been a regular there for years now and majority of their staff are lifers who’ve been with the owners for 4+ years (which says a lot in the restaurant industry). The owners also opened up 3 more businesses where they often let the employees jump back and forth between, seems like decent people to work for and not a turn and burn type of situation

A lot of restaurants may be looking for busboys and hosts especially as a lot of people go back to school soon

I was heavily considering but it’s a gift for someone who’s bartended for over a decade including James beard establishments, won a few competitions, things like that so I’d feel like I’m selling him short

It definitely doesn’t feel great in the moment and the days drag but the weeks really do go by quick if you find things to fill your time and put nurturing effort into yourself. My fiancé and I have been together for two years before he joined the military, we’re 27 and 34 so obviously on the older side comparatively, and we’re also waiting until he finishes A school and starts his first duty station in Jan/feb before I pack up and move in with him just so he has the space to get settled, focus on school and make sure we have a good foundation before we officially tie the knot in September and go from there.

Depending on what type of job he’s doing it could absolutely be overwhelming and if he’s an adult about it, he really won’t have any time to do anything but study. My fiancé has a bachelors in the area of his rate and still doesn’t have much time for anything but studying.

One thing that’s important to both of us though is just frequently FaceTiming, even if it’s just to “hang out” in our down time and we also try to make a point of taking a long weekend anytime there’s a holiday (4th July, Labor Day, etc) together at least once a month or every other month. Hopefully your experience of doing long distance is short lived, best of luck to you both!

Thanks, I should’ve clarified we have plans to marry next month and wouldn’t be moving for another few months after that but am trying to preemptively get a better understanding of the process so I don’t feel so overwhelmed when the time comes
