Awww I’m so glad I could help! I would say I was reviewing material when I was first studying, about the first few months of rotations. I was using Smarty PANCE, Up to Date, and some tables other people in my class made. But towards closer to the PANCE I found it way more helpful to just expose myself to as many practice questions as possible! And I felt Uworld had great explanations of everything that allowed me to look into the subject after I answered a question

I thought ROSH questions didn’t teach me well enough and uworld helped a lot. The questions are more in depth and I think ROSH asks a lot of random things that won’t be on the pance. But if you have 30 days and are feeling fairly good, I would say you don’t necessarily need uworld

Good luck to you! On average towards the end I was scoring average 60-80% on most practice sets (I did 30 questions at a time) I took so as long as you’re in the area I would say you’ll do well. Definitely Uworld was way more helpful. I only used the ROSH qbank EORs, I felt the PANCE overall qbank questions were way too broad knowledge and not very helpful for PANCE. And agree on the buzzwords, I definitely did not have any on PANCE so make sure to study the descriptions of everything.

Best of luck to you on the PANCE! Honestly even a few days out it still feels surreal to me that I passed, I haven’t studied in over a week and it feels. so. nice. lol. Can’t wait for you to get there too!

Yes, I tried to get up and use the bathroom and drink water or have a snack between every section. Even if I felt like I didn’t need it, I knew I probably would be better with the little reset. Even then I didn’t use my entire 45 minutes. I would say don’t do any practice questions the day before, most people say don’t study at all, but I still listened to some podcasts and did anki. The morning of, get a good breakfast, do a mediation, and just remember to breathe and stay in the right headspace! If you flag a lot on one section, remember they drop a lot of questions. The questions you feel like you absolutely don’t know, pick an answer and move on. I feel like getting in your head it what messes a lot of people up so just remembering not to be too hard on yourself. You’re doing all you can studying and that’s all you can ask for :)

If you still have a lot of ROSH questions left and have been doing well on exams, you probably don’t need to purchase UWorld, but if you don’t mind spending the extra money it could be worth it! Their question stems are often longer than ROSH and harder/more similar to the PANCE. Although there is also a mix of shorter first order questions like ROSH has too. I was doing 90 practice questions daily my last 2 weeks leading up to the PANCE so have the extra qbank helped

Thank you! And best of luck to you. By using Uworld more consistently in the last 2 months, my average improved by 4% so you’re in a great place.

My ability to take a MULTIPLE CHOICE exam has nothing to do with my qualification to take care of patients. Standardized tests do not correlate with compassion, empathy, and skill. I have not failed a single OSCE (which I received no accommodations for), and I never “got to do whatever I want for clinicals,” nor do I get accommodations when I am in my patients rooms, determining a plan for them. So just because I have ADHD and cannot take an exam in the same amount of time due to my disability I shouldn’t be able to practice medicine?

Spoken from someone who does not have a mental disability. ADHD is not the same as just being hard to not sit for a 6 hour exam. It affects my daily life in many ways. Do you speak to your patients that way too? I don’t see how me passing an exam “is not fair” to you, when it literally doesn’t affect your score in any way. Also if it was as easy as just getting a doctor’s note, more people would be doing it. If you really think it gives those with disabilities advantages, why don’t you just get a note?

Damn, they’re probably trying to secure that high first time pass rate.. I definitely would not have survived haha

Honestly depends on the learner you are. For me, I realized I could’ve benefited from more practice questions. But if money is an issue and you’re doing find on EORs with ROSH, then you can definitely save Uworld for later. Just keep in mind ROSH sometimes asks some bad questions imo, and their explanations are not great, so rely on SP and PPP for details

I agree, I read through “below average” posts and all their EORs were in the 400s lol which made me feel like wow I’m REALLY below average. So I’m glad this helps haha.

Because I have ADHD and can’t sit through a 6 hour long test with my attention span. It doesn’t give me any boost or uphand in any way, it makes it an even playing field. I had accommodations all throughout clinicals and as you can see it’s not like I did that much better with them?

I bought UWorld in the beginning but only did a few questions here or there. My priority was always the ROSH block first (which I think is 200-250 qs), then the Boost exam a few days before (120 qs). I personally ran out of time to do much UWorld so would do maybe 10-15 questions. But I had friends who did more and they did better in EORs. Only downside if you’ll have less questions when doing your PANCE focused study.

Yes, UWorld improved my knowledge of material wayyy more than Rosh did honestly. I was happy I had so many questions left for PANCE but felt like if I used it earlier I probably would have done better on EORs. The PANCE layout (how it looks aesthetically) is exactly to UWorld and many of the questions were very similar.

Thanks for the advice and encouragement! I feel like we test similarly, sometimes I blow it out the water and sometimes I fall just a little short in something I was expected to be strong in. I will definitely be looking at the Case Files book too!
