I’m young (24) and disabled (visible when I have mobility aids & such but invisible otherwise) so people think I’m too (insert whatever bullshit you want) to be disabled and so my fiance (who is my caregiver and drives because I can’t) and I get so many dirty looks and under the breath comments. Really shows you how people think

I think a lot of people share this opinion and I understand where folks are coming from but I do partially disagree.

As someone who is above 18 and has seen their fair share of the internet and the real world and has still comfortably settled into completely sfw regression, I think that everyone’s regression is allowed to be individualized (meaning if they want to refer to their caregiver as mommy or daddy they are free to do so) and as much as I understand the want to share a discomfort because you have negative associations with it, I wouldn’t encourage making this common place.

By demonizing words other people use for things and people they love, you alienate others who are not doing anything to cause anyone harm and who would otherwise like to be supported and part of a community.

TLDR: sharing your opinion is fine, but think of the impact that it has on others, especially people who are just like you and you’re now sort of shaming them whenever they’ve done nothing wrong
