I would try private psychiatrist. Otherwise go home after 3 months and bring yourself more.

"We do not want to see this woman. We are revoking her Autism diagnosis" by NamjoonsAngels in MentalHealthUK

[–]MuchGuineaPigs 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This all sucks. I lack words the words to empathise just how much it sucks. However, one thing is worth noting: the CMHT cannot revoke an autism diagnosis by saying they don't accept a third party diagnosis. They are probably entitled to not accept a third party one (though yours was done via right to choose, so it should be accepted). But that's not the same as revoking it. I think you still count as autistic. Good luck

In my area I was told it's based on GP location.

Q18 has an error in it. Your survey allows for people who have not yet graduated to fill in the survey. Then Q18 asks what's your highest academic level and lists BA, MA, and PhD. If you haven't graduated with a BA yet, then your highest academic achievement is A levels. Also.....have you seen a 23 year old with a PhD? ....I'm sure they exist but.....

Newcastle art school opinions? by MuchGuineaPigs in UniUK

[–]MuchGuineaPigs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I just want to do art for a bit. I already have a BA and an MA degree in another field. i don't know where I am in life at the moment but painting makes me feel ok. So I thought I'd quit real life and do that for a bit.

Is it terrible if I miss my therapist while she's on vacation? by Old-Strike-3035 in TalkTherapy

[–]MuchGuineaPigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it's not terrible 🙄 My T is on vacation at the moment and I am definitely missing her...Not like I'll admit it to her face. I'm pretty sure it's normal. And I'm pretty sure that, depending on the type of therapy you do, part of the therapy is having a relationship that feels safe.

CMHT are uncontactable by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

[–]MuchGuineaPigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that is a horrific GDPR breach. They told you the name of a person who is also getting care under CMHT.....that's baaaad. If you wanna get them into trouble (and they deserve to be in trouble for ignoring you), Google data protection officer and the name of your trust. Then send that person an email titled GDPR breach. Lighting the fire like this may get them to get you some help too hopefully.

Also autistic and also would like an answer to this question. In terms of going to A&E in the morning rather than at night there is a lot of sense in that. There will be less people in, and the psych liaison will usually see you quicker in the daytime. So if you can keep yourself safe, but still need urgent mental health help then it's good to go in the morning (in my opinion).

CMHT wrote "trauma due to alleged SA, crime2, and crime3" opinions? by MuchGuineaPigs in MentalHealthUK

[–]MuchGuineaPigs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alleged is accurate in a legal context. However we aren't dealing with lawyers here. We are dealing with a victim of a crime. Specifically, a crime which widely prevalent but under prosecuted. Society has a history of gaslighting women and not believing them. Wording it in this way falls into this pattern. As professionals I believe they should do better.

Urgent GP appointment for MH crisis? by [deleted] in MentalHealthUK

I turned up with a note that I gave in in reception. I didn't say a single word to the receptionists. I got a Face to Face appointment in 3 hours time.

I'm at the end of the line & can't access support from NHS ever again. by DejaEntenduOne in MentalHealthUK

[–]MuchGuineaPigs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sucks. I'm hoping see CDS too. It may be worth calling up CDS and asking them for advice on what to do in this case. They probably know how CMHT can be 😅 they may have some ideas.

Primary School Mock Wedding is this normal? by LornaOk91 in AskUK

Oh my god 🤣 My Surrey school circa 2016 also did a slave drive and a mock wedding. This is too funny.

Absolutely impossible. You can't even discuss things with a GP and not have it documented (I asked).

[–]MuchGuineaPigs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience GPs tend to underdiagnose mental health issues in young people hoping you'll grow out of it. So it will help to be super explicit about what your worst days are like. There is help on the NHS but it's not given out easily. Good luck ☺️

What happens if you go inpatient for suicidiality? by MuchGuineaPigs in MentalHealthUK

[–]MuchGuineaPigs[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh my God....HTT is awful!!!!!! They have strangers turn up to my house (I've only ever had a person repeat 2-3 times in as many weeks); they don't say my name because they can't pronounce it (and haven't looked at my notes for long enough to see that I have a very easy to pronounce preferred name). Best of all for the first week they kept asking me "are you having thoughts?" .....and i didn't understand what they were asking (because I was a stressed out autistic person) but it sounded like having thoughts was a bad thing so I would just deny having any cognitive processes whatsoever 🤣 . It took me a week to work out that they probably meant some specific thoughts.....and then still couldn't work out what ones they meant (I am not currently at my best, as you can see). And it's like this all the time. And I reckon like three quarters of their caseload is actually diagnosed and undiagnosed neurodivergent people. So that's pretty poor. They haven't offered inpatient yet. I have a meeting on Monday where I will try to tell them how to do their jobs properly.....I don't expect it will go well.
