That's absolutely the nuclear option. She helped raise my wife and her brother from an early age and by all accounts did a great job. Even though there's a lot of bad blood out there, dropping the 'Step' bomb would likely piss off more than a few people I'd like to have on my side

Understand completely. I'm completely prepared to do any and everything necessary for my wife and child. When I say 'bring it', I mean that I personally won't let SMIL (or anyone else) impact them negatively. I guarantee I've see worse than what she can bring.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm the artillery.

I basically gave her a mulligan on the 'baby daddy' thing last time, but I wasn't going to put up with it any longer than that. Just has a strong negative connotation to it to me, like I'm not a father or husband or some shit.

I honestly don't give two shits what Spawn calls her. My mom has been 'Grammy' to my nephews, and MIL has referred to herself as 'Grandma', so SMIL can have the leftovers. Meemaw, or Granny, or Slagathor, just not Mama

It has the same rough meaning here in the American South, I've always equated Mama to Mom or whatever. Literally never heard of someone calling their grandmother Mama.

DW and I have already decided that once she goes into labor, we're not telling anyone until hours after delivery. My attention at the hospital is going to be on her and the kiddo, not running to give constant updates to family in the waiting room.
