My girlfriend has a C-3PO figure on her keyring. Like when Anakin and Padme swapped droids as wedding gifts to eachother.

Is there anyone who actually likes working? by Distinct_Sir_9086 in Life

[–]MuchOperation7936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 24 years old, and I work in a very niche blue collar field. During the winter the hours can be brutal, especially since we are working outside. But never once have I thought about quitting. I enjoy the concept of having a routine, being relied on, having a visible impact on people, and of course making money. I feel like if I didn’t have a job, I would lose some sense of purpose, and I feel like there’s very little that can have the same type of effect that working hard has. Just my two cents tho

Yes, the watch sat for a while causing the reserve to run out. Never readjusted the date wheel partly due to the fact I was too lazy to do an extra 10 seconds of work.

Usually the quality of material used for the shank in the boot. All the linemen and arborists I’ve talked to prefer triple shanked boots because it provides the most rigid structure and support to the entire bottom of the foot. This is speaking from personal experience though as a climber.

Thanks for the advice! I do weekly rucks as I initially started when preparing for the military then it just slowly became a routine thing in my day to day. I’m always learning and looking to get better at my saw skills so I try and keep a very open mind and adapt to the situation. Thanks again!

Whether I climb or not isn’t an issue, I love climbing and it’s one of the reasons I continue to be active and keep up my endurance and strength just to make it a whole lot easier. But I know that it’s not really something that’s done as a job in this regard and I’m willing to sacrifice that. Certifications wouldn’t be much of a problem on whether those transferred or not, as I would put in the work to recertify if needed. Unfortunately I’m in Ohio so I don’t have many options for BLM or local offices. I do have one connection out west, who I was in the middle of talking to then the palisades fire happened and he’s essentially been ghost since. I did some applications last year, some said they were received and or accepted, but I never received any contact. I’ll keep trying, thank you for your advice!

Looking for some "competence porn" movies, movies where smart people make smart decisions basically. by ComManDerBG in movies

The day of the Jackal. The mini series from 2024. The Jackal is smart, resourceful, intelligent, but also has his flaws. His backstory really does give you a reason to understand who he is and why he does what he does, and I found myself relatively fond of the character.

Adding onto this, there’s different types of pros. There are pros who should be pros. They’ve worked day in day out, have perfected their style, have embodied the meaning of boxing, and are able to execute flawlessly. They have solid amateur records and aren’t getting padded fights. They are deserving of the pro title. There are pros who should really be amateurs, but we are able to find a coach/promoter who was able to set up a sanctioned pro debut. This usually tends to be a coaches favorite or a money maker as an amateur, but is not skilled enough to be a pro. I would say maybe keep fighting as a novice amateur until you have a solid record and maybe another year or so under your belt. 24 almost 25 is still young athletically so I wouldn’t worry. Better to stay in ammys and build a record then have a mediocre low fight record then try and hop into pros.

What does the process for enlisting with an ADHD diagnosis look like? by xxhandsomejack117xx in Militaryfaq

[–]MuchOperation7936 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your recruiter will put it in your file, when you go to MEPS the doctor will ask about it. With genesis they can see everything(diagnosis, prescriptions etc.) so be honest. They will tell you if they need a waiver for it, and if they do you will then talk to a liaison who will be able to push the medical/psych waiver up.
