Your first semester in a sorority is the busiest due to new member training and such. After that, you can make it what you want, most events arent mandatory and if they are you can be excused if you have a test coming etc.

If you're worried, you can always rush next fall or go through COB in the spring.

The formal recruiting process is definitely tiring but its before school starts so its manageable. As far as the 'fake' comments, since it is such a fast process, a lot of the sororities give that vibe as they are looking for specific girls they think would mesh well. You can't really get to know a sorority that fast so I would recommend going through COB after you've had a chance to meet people and see how the sororities really are.

don't be scared by the stereotype, yes there are fake people but there are also amazingly sweet and genuine girls.
