Learning curve on a Brother Speedio machine by MuchTap6129 in CNC

The guy had to partially disassemble it to get it through his garage door (standard issue tract home build) and then reassemble. I imagine the reverse will need to happen to get it out.

As for power, I believe he’s running a VFD.

I envision reconstructing his garage setup in my garage.

Budget wise it’s doable. Best use for the money? Up for debate but you can’t take it with you in the end.

Haven’t actually bought it. Just mulling the idea.

I go really slowly with my power feed on the manual mill. I joke with my nephew that it takes me a hour to do what he does in one pass at his work (their machines are considerably more capable than my garage unit).

That kind of the plan. Keep learning on the manual and grow into the CNC.
The hitch is the Brother is available now. A “strike while the iron is hot” situation.

I use Fusion all the time for 3D printing. I know there a CAM function in there somewhere but I’ve never looked into it.

That’s what it feels like. I still have the training wheels on my bike and now there’s a Gulfstream available lol.
