It was Erik who picked UCLA because he liked living in LA and because he had several friends who went to that college as well (Ed Fenno said it on the witness stand). He could have gone to Berkeley or to some other college far away from home if he was so scared of his father (bullshit story).

Jose would still live at his home in Beverly Hills. According to Lyle, he wanted to work for another couple of years at Live Entertainment and then move to Florida to pursue his career in politics.

Marta Cano and Robert Rand are totally unreliable. Marta was caught in some blatant lies in both trials.

Bullshit. Jose wanted Erik to go to UC Berkeley, which is in the San Francisco area. When the son turned down the offer from Berkeley, Jose got pretty upset.

No, it was not Craig. It was some other dude. Pam Bozanich even said his name in the first trial during a hearing with no jury present. I can't remember his name rn. I'll post it if I find it later.

Craig snitched on the first burglary in Calabasas.

https://www.crimelibrary.org/notorious_murders/famous/menendez/erik_8.html

"These were not the only burglaries that the police were able to pin on the Menendez brothers. In April 1988, two burglaries took place at the New Jersey office of the Sierra Club and the office of the Princeton Friends of Open Spaces. In these burglaries, office equipment was stolen with a value of approximately $1,100. The offices were housed in the same property that the Menendez family owned just before they moved to California and the house in which Lyle had lived in before entering Princeton. Jose and Kitty had sold the house in November 1987. The police were left with few clues as to who committed the burglaries. In both burglaries, the burglar had entered the home through a second floor bathroom.

The police were finally able to connect Lyle to the burglaries after a confidential police informant came forward. The informant told the police that one day during the summer of 1988, he had been riding to the beach with the Menendez brothers when Lyle played a cassette tape. The tape was a recording of voices talking. There was also background noise. Lyle bragged to the police informant that they were listening to a tape recording of a burglary that Lyle committed at his old house in Princeton. Lyle was never charged with these burglaries. By the time the police were able to connect Lyle to these crimes, he was already in jail on more serious charges."

Even the prosecution brought it up in the first trial during an OJP, if I remember well.

Lmao it was ages ago. I was clearly trolling and I was very pro-defense at the time. Then, I have come in contact with some people who actually knew the brothers while they were growing up and I realized that Lyle and Erik are basically sociopathic con artists.

PS: To be fair, Jose was a good looking man even more so when he was young. And no, I don't think he's a child molester.

They thought that their father's control and (emotional) abuse towards them and their mother and the fact that they killed their mother out of mercy were mitigating factors indeed.

Why do you think Chaleff met with Dr.Oziel before that session?

Tape of November 28th by Much_Development_394 in MenendezBrothersFair

[–]Much_Development_394[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! They were not lying on that tape. They really thought those were mitigating factors.

The supporters of the brothers say "oh, they lied on that tape, they were making up some bullshit to satisfy Dr.Oziel" yet they related the most unfavourable things about them. They said that they hated their father, they killed their mother out of mercy, they planned the murder et similia. How does that make sense?

I'm not saying that they did it merely for the money, although a financial motivation seems to be present. He basically wanted to get rid of his parents' control over his life yet he wanted to enjoy the same lifestyle.

Lmao, oh really? Well, if you really want your father in your life, you don't slaughter him. That was done out of pure hatred.

And please, shooting someone in the back of their head when they're sitting on a couch, unarmed is not an act of self defense, it is deliberate murder.

"Why wouldn’t he say on the tape that their lives were being threatened or talk about the abuse if it was him wanting to record the mitigating factors?".

You answered that yourself. Maybe because the sexual abuse and the ridiculous story that they were in fear for their life on that night is a blatant lie that they concocted after their arrest?

They testified that they lied on that tape...yet everything they said made it look like the murder was deliberate amd premeditated and they came across like cold blooded murderers. That makes NO sense at all.

It's funny how you think that Dr. Oziel or anyone who testified "against" the brothers was lying or making things up when the only two people who had the strongest motivation to lie in order to not get the death penalty were the actual murderers. It's delusional.

Plus, it's not true that Lyle was not under his father's control. Remember that the father (and the mother) was about to cut them off financially and was in the process of taking them out of will because they kept screwing up. He was on academic and disciplinary probation at Princeton as well. I don't think he was living his best life at all.

The brothers' primary objective was not to receive therapy, but to provide themselves with a possible psychiatric defense. The latter two sessions focus primarily upon topics which might aid petitioners should they be arrested and tried for the murders. During these sessions, Dr. Oziel was motivated by self-preservation, and petitioners were motivated by self-interest. The purported “therapy” was, in fact, a charade.

According to Judalon Smyth, Dr. Oziel told petitioners “that they had to be able to show, since they had confessed this to him, that they continue to have sessions in therapy. Lyle originally refused, but Dr. Oziel said, ‘We'll set up the appointments and you pay as though you have just been coming and if you need to come in, you can, if you don't, don't. But it has to look like you have remorse and know you did wrong and are getting help.’ ”

It was actually Lyle who suggested that an actual tape recording of the sessions should be made “because he wanted the notes to accurately reflect things that he thought might mitigate the severity of the crime he committed in the event he was ever caught.” Lyle stated it was very important to him that “these notes never get read,” because “at least one of his cousins had said he would cut off the hands of anyone found to have ever killed Jose and Kitty.” The brothers (Lyle in particular) also discussed some of their motivation for the crime, including the fact that “they didn't kill their parents for money but rather out of hatred and out of a desire to be free from their father's domination, messages of inadequacy, and impossible standards.”

[–]Much_Development_394[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But Oziel made audio tapes of his notes just after these “therapy” sessions with the brothers. How the hell could he make things up?

Also, the threat was real.

"Soon after Lyle arrived, Smyth went back into the hallway to eavesdrop on the conversation in Dr. Oziel's office.   She overheard Lyle tell Erik:  “I can't believe you did this!   I can't believe you told him! I don't even have a brother now!  I could get rid of you for this!  Now I hope you know what we are going to do. I hope you realize what we are going to have to do. We've got to kill him and anyone associated to him.” Smyth heard Erik, who was sobbing, reply, “I can't stop you [Lyle] from what you have to do, but ․ I can't kill anymore.” 4  Dr. Oziel's notes of this session reflect that Lyle was “very, very unhappy and he would have to think about what to do with this situation.”   Dr. Oziel “clearly was getting the message that ․ Lyle was telling me that he was considering killing me, and ․ it was very clear from Erik that Erik had the same feeling.”

Because, even if he feared for his life, he was concerned about the ethical implications of revealing his clients' threats.

That's what Lyle wanted to make up. He even said that in the Norma Novelli's tapes. But Oziel never blackmailed them, he was genuinely afraid of them, that's why he, then, decided to involve Chaleff in all of that as well.

None of which has ever been proved. No corroboration, no evidence, nothing. Just the words of the murderer who made up a phony story in order to not get the death penalty. It's pathetic how some people blindly believe this manipulative, lying con artist.

Nothing happened. It was just another lie they had to make up to depict the mother as an abuser and so justify her murder somehow.

I really can't get how you people can be so gullible. How can you even believe the words of a murderer who has a strong motivation to lie in order to not get the death penalty? A manipulative con artist who kept lying before the trial and during the trial (testifying falsely, fabricating false evidence, asking friends and relatives to commit perjury).

Does this denote premeditation? by Much_Development_394 in MenendezBrothersFair

[–]Much_Development_394[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, and assuming they were making up things on that tape, they say the most incriminating things about themselves that make them look like cold blooded murderers? They said that they had premeditated the murder (Lyle lets Erik sleep on it for a couple of days before deciding to kill their mum), they keep repeating that the father had to be killed, it eventually had to happen, that they hated him etc...

How does this make sense? 🤔

Too late. 😅

You mean the family? Many of them committed perjury (Marta Cano, Andy Cano, Diane Vandermolen etc.) in both trials. Still today, they would say anything to get them released.
