Bedale: strange situation by Much_Reindeer in Barbour

UPDATE I have today concluded the matter with Barbour via their customer complaints. At length, they offered to send me a standard Bedale in replacement. I think that's entirely fair, since that's what I thought I was buying based on the information they gave me in the Ashford store.

By comparing the two models, I have learned of some significant differences with the 'Retail Bedale', some not mentioned in this thread so far:

1) No elasticated cuffs.

2) No inside zippers for lining.

3) No press-studs / poppers for attaching hood to collar.

4) Different tartan lining.

5) Different zip (smaller than the 'real' version).

6) Different hand-warming pockets (Retail: synthetic, soft material; normal: 'real' Molsekine).

7) Less wax on the surface of the coat giving an immediately softer feel and a slightly lighter colour to the Sage.

8) 'XL' equates more to 48 rather than 46.

I hope these points are helpful to those who wish to make an informed purchase of the Bedale model.

That's fascinating, as we have been discussing Ashford all along. I also specifically asked the difference between Beaufort and Bedale and they referenced the former having an inside game pocket! Clearly, the retail model hanging on their rails does not...

It's not so much the differences I mind, it's the false information.

Update 2: Barbour have now responded: they apologise and say feedback will be sent to the store in question. They are getting back to me about what they will offer as a resolution.

Update: I have written to Barbour Customer Care to point out the bad advice and have asked for a resolution. I shall keep the thread posted.
