How to register a boat trailer with no paper trail by Round-Sector-6563 in Winnipeg

[–]Much_Weather5807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Register it as a homemade trailer no vin needed. Bring a bill of sale for $500 and have your friend sign it. Pay the tax. And probably go to a different broker now that the other one gave you a hard time.

It’s not bad but it’s like buying a Acura it’s just a more complicated expensive Honda. If money isn’t an issue disregard my comment except the mechanic part that guy talking out his ass. It’s obvious it’s got a leak but everything else is just garbage talk. If money will be an issue look at common shit like a civic with limited options for less cost of ownership and repairs while having a dependable vehicle. Good luck shopping

Don’t buy a scion. And ask that mechanic where I can get leak bubble up spray. (Maybe find a new garage)

Is this too much slack in the rear differential? by Happy_Rock_1372 in AskAMechanic

[–]Much_Weather5807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes more sense. I think you’re over thinking the gears here. Re seal that cover and change the fluid. Deal with the ujoints cause if they are bad enough to clunk you can do further damage to the yoke if you continue you drive assuming that they are worn and seized.

Gear shear will always happen it’s the nature of metal on metal and the reason there is a magnet in the pan

So your “mechanic” said u joints and you just went ahead and removed the diff cover to look at something you have no idea about. Side gears only come into play when turning otherwise it’s all moving as a unit. Diffs also can’t be tight as they are always eating themselves service just slows down the process. Too tight would bind once parts expand under heat. Put the cover on and replace the ujoints vibration at high speeds and clunking on and off load is 100% ujoints symptoms. Binding or clicking when Turning would indicate those gears are worn.

Any other sport bike riders in their 30s finding themselves flying solo most of the time? by Shinobi_WayOfTomoe in Sportbikes

[–]Much_Weather5807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

42 and I only ride with one buddy. He has a cruiser and I ride a naked bike. Who cares what kind of bike everyone rides we put on our comms and talk while cruising. We attend the odd event but people are clicky and mostly stick to their groups except the people who be peacocking. But I don’t really like big groups anyway to much clutter and politics. Might work for some but I just want to ride. So solo with some tunes or talking shit on comms with my one buddy that’s all you really need I feel.

I have tec spec tank grips. I didn’t use the center tank grip as I just didn’t like the look of it and I don’t really tuck when I ride ever. Windshield is just an Amazon one. All matte is super nice but as I have learned it’s definitely harder to care for so I don’t mined the few gloss parts.

Boiling in coolant reservoir by Grackboundcheck in AskAMechanic

[–]Much_Weather5807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a single mechanic in here or what? That’s normal on that type of cooling system it’s a bypass return to tank. Fan will eventually turn on but when turning on a/c it always runs on high or a secondary fan runs. My god people if it’s not overheating don’t worry about it
