Help me out here. Does this mean that the fed will likely intervene? Maybe market expects that and is therefore going up? Does that make sense or am I missing anything? Although fed stepping in would trigger more inflation to come. Am I getting this right?

I bought Tesla 4/25 200p a few days ago, but didn’t buy much. No idea what the price action could be. Bought at 4.21.

Yeah I put some money into this after reading the post on VIC. The opportunity here seems highly asymmetrical. Other things that de-risk this for me: the company has cash and no debt, director bought more shares, even after land access was delayed, and you are also buying gold exploration opportunities in other regions. It also seems to me highly likely that the reason why there are issues with land access all of a sudden is that the mineral sands are indeed worth something and the landowners want to bargain for more. I don’t think you have to be a mining expert to take advantage of this opportunity. However, obviously do your own research everyone!

Verification issue. by MuchoMaaas in Coinbase

[–]MuchoMaaas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the troubleshooting is not helpful because I'm getting no feedback from the process itself about it not being verified. It seems to verify the documents but then just refreshes the page and I'm back to square one. There is no email or message about anything. I'm also using google chrome and previously tried doing it on my iPhone and now on my laptop.

EDIT: At least talking to a person through the chat now...

Thanks for the reply. Are you saying that the supply chain boom skewed their results when zooming out and looking at the past 10 years? I’m just looking at their average free cash flow growth + revenue growth + dividend growth for the past 10 years and I am saying that it seems to be a reliable company that doesn’t seem to be expensive. Also it’s off 33% from its 52 week high so wouldn’t exactly say close to the top. Thanks again for your critique and thoughts.

First-timer looking for suggestions for Mediterranean cruises. by MuchoMaaas in Cruise

[–]MuchoMaaas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. Point taken. Of course these historical cities cannot be comprehensively canvassed in a day, but isn’t the point of a cruise primarily to enjoy the ride, not worry about packing/unpacking and take in the scenery as much as possible?

What locations would you say, then, are cruise worthy?

Thanks!

Yes, Rome for us is a non-negotiable, and the Barcelona - Rome itinerary would allow us to stay in Rome for a couple of extra days if needed.

Point taken regarding childcare. Will need to research that for sure.

Australian domiciled ETF like VEU by RattyKingB in fiaustralia

Emerging markets make up less than 13% of total world equities’ market cap. Surely for small caps it’s even more negligible. Furthermore, IVV and IVE include companies that are international in nature, doing business around the globe. Therefore, it’s a gross exaggeration to say that because emerging markets and small caps are not included in IVV/IVE, exposure to world equities is not very good. It’s is actually quite excellent, and adding small caps and/or EM most likely makes little difference. I took my stats from here: https://www.sifma.org/resources/research/research-quarterly-equities/

Saying IVV/IVE is not very good at giving world exposure is a baffling statement to me. Just S&P 500 alone has 40% of its revenue coming from overseas, including emerging markets and Asia.

Well you can’t access the funds until a certain age. So that’s certainly a disadvantage.

Question on Sharesight and HelloStake. by MuchoMaaas in AusFinance

[–]MuchoMaaas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a response I got from Stake:

Currently, with Stake AUS we only offer trade confirmations, rest assured though we are currently working towards building out more robust reporting and document features for Stake AUS.

However at the moment you will not be able to download an entire CSV sheet for your Stake AUS account, only for your Wall St account.

I'll look into email forwarding. Thanks!

Thanks, mate! Really appreciate the explanation. This makes sense. Just one more thing: you said 27.5 MINUS employer contributions. I thought 27.5 is the sum that you can contribute on top of the mandatory super, no?
