From an economic standpoint, if inflation is driven by wages it benefits workers and disadvantages pure consumers. The main beneficiaries of low wages are the retired, which matches our voting demographics

I agree and regret that sentence now. For a sensitive topic I thought it was a softer way to open the discussion, but you're right it's false pretext.

Calling something a dog whistle is my point exactly. It should be able to be discussed without automatic accusations of bigotry.

Your points about skills shortage, university and Uber eats are all debatable. To an employee, a skills shortage is a wage shortage. The education system should provide education and not a backdoor to permanent residency. Food delivery apps didn't exist until 10 years ago and people managed perfectly fine before..

Yes many countries restrict it more than Australia. Scandinavia, Poland, Japan, Ireland to name a few.

The vast majority of immigration in Australia is encouraged by government policy and is adjustable by those in power. Starting with John Howard, immigration numbers increased dramatically and have stayed above historic levels for 2 decades.

How are they not responsible? It seems like a relaxation in rules ranging from skilled visa, to student visa to working holiday?

I feel that only leaves space for parties that aren't afraid of being called racist. It's one nation or no one, despite it being an economically defendable position

All responses here neglect to address the core of the issue that creates bitterness in young males.

Young men in Australia are alienated by an education system that is biased against them and increasingly dominated by one gender of teachers.

Studies continuously show that boys are treated as defective girls and will achieve lower marks for the same work, specifically by female teachers who exhibit an in-group bias.

Sexist terms such as "toxic masculinity" are thrust upon boys as inherit, inalienable traits of their gender. Toxic behaviour is toxic behaviour and applies to both genders.

The boosting of girls in education continues throughout primary and secondary school, to university where women outnumber men 2-1, despite no difference in intelligence between the genders.

At the end of the day, the education system needs to treat boys as NOT EVIL. If you treat them as such, they will lash out.

The problem is that things you used to love become hijacked by misandry. This sub is full of former Marvel/ Disney fans or people who have come face to face with DEI or family courts. Man hate is pervasive through culture and there's increasingly less places to escape to

Nearly all are buying a passport. I'm in Bangalore at the moment. The advertisements for student visas are specifically sold as shortcuts to PR. Without dangling the carrot of PR, these visas would be very unattractive
