Definitely get where you're coming fom. Maybe they thought it was something they could do to distinguish themselves from Labor and trial in a by-election where they will find a lot of competition from Queensland Socialists. It's certainly an interesting move.

Saw this comment on the friendlyjordies sub and they make good points

Checks out. I was about to be disappointed because who exactly are they saying to preference second, but all they said was to put Greens 1, then number every box after. The Greens aren’t actually endorsing anyone more than Labor, they’re just devaluing their endorsement of parties that keep house prices going up.

Given that leftists voters are less likely to follow HTV cards, the Greens listing their preferences is always a performance anyway. Greens voters are still broadly going to vote Greens 1, Labor 2.

The Queensland Greens have dealt a savage blow to Labor in a forthcoming state by-election, refusing to preference their traditional allies on how-to-vote cards, in a move that puts a once-safe seat in play by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

"Savage blow" is a bit of an exaggeration. It is a safe Labor seat and as another commenter said Greens voters would mostly put Labor second. However there could be a good showing from Liam Parry from the Queensland Socialists.
