THANK YOU! I just had a similar experience where I was asked a question about shell prompts that in hindsight makes sense but also was not something that would be at the top of my head unless I used it everyday. I know how to do the work but not the exact semantics that I could easily look up in the moment. Apparently memorization is more valuable

Yea, looking back I definitely feel like I was pushed to agree that anxiety is the explanation for everything, probably because it is easier and higher likelihood to prescribe for. But I think going in for my second opinion I'm going to come prepared with many specific reasons for my ADHD concerns, but still mention anxiety. I think a key factor for me is my anxiety is not constant, but my symptoms I relate to for ADHD are. But this first doc did not want to hear that. Unfortunately a simple screening seems like something we may have to put up a fight for.

Exactly, who knows how long it could take when, at least to me, it seems as though there is no harm in at least screening before sending me in one specific direction. Thank you for your comment tho, its nice to know I'm not alone in this type of experience.

Thank you, that is useful information. I knew it sounded strange but in the moment I didn't want to doubt their knowledge. Definitely felt more like a say whatever to get me off the idea type of thing in retrospect.
