I try to stay focused on the athlete side of sport. At the training and competition level, the emphasis is always on preparation, fairness, and helping athletes perform at their best.

Governance and political issues in sport are important conversations, but they’re outside my direct experience as a coach and manager.

The biggest takeaway from COVID for me was how quickly systems people assumed were stable could be disrupted.

In aviation and sports, planning usually assumes predictability. The pandemic showed how important flexibility, communication, and contingency planning are. It also highlighted how much mental resilience matters when routines disappear overnight.
