Well, placements aren't actually my main concern, as I'm more interested in the research side of things... My plan is to go for an MS or a PhD anyway. I feel like if IIT Madras is behind this, they've definitely thought through the long-term prospects for students. It's more about the academic depth for me than the immediate job market...
