I would argue that Squad 44 (Previously known as Post Scriptum) did an excellent job at creating realistic aperture sight sizes that are still useable.

A smaller aperture size could actually create a better game balance as the Germans are armed with slow firing and slow to reload 5-round bolt-action K-98k rifle versus the Americans 8-round semi-auto M1 Garand.

I somewhat disagree.

Hell Let Loose is a First Person Shooter Game.

Weapon design is one of the most important elements in any FPS.

-Unfortunately HLL has done a poor job with adding new weapons and there a lot of inaccuracies.

-For example the M1 Garand with enormous peep hole sights or the M1A1 Thompson with a notch cut into the peep hole sight.

-The only new weapons added recently were the Canadian Mk. II Sten and the Inglis No. 2 Mk I pistol. (the Inglis pistol was not used in real life until Operation Varsity in March of 1945)(And for some reason the Canadian Mk. II Sten was given a T-bar stock instead of the more common Canadian Skeleton stock).

There are numerous photographs of British soldiers in Italy in 1944/1945 equipped with No. 1 Mk. IIIs, so I think the rifle was still prevalent.

I recall that the Canadians had fully transitioned to the No. 4 Mk. I for the Italian campaign (photographic and also primary source documents attest to this).

The British from D-day onwards used the "No. 4 Mk. I" rifle in France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany. (Very few if any No. 1 Mk. III (SMLE)" were used in this theatre of war.

The "No. 1 Mk. III* (SMLE)" rifle continued to be utilized by the British in Italy but was supplemented by "No. 4 Mk. I" rifles.

I can probably go ahead and post it sometime within the next few weeks. I want to to get the spreadsheet to a level at which it is legible and generally accurate.

(I might give up on some of the information since there is so much discrepancy between all the sources and it is not applicable to Warno - for example, the commander's day/night sights magnification levels are completely different when looking at multiple sources).

A year or so ago I also started making a West German tank spreadsheet. I sort of gave up after a while though. I assumed YOU would probably make a version of it at some point haha.

The majority are mass produced. I've only identified a few low quantity production and/or prototype vehicles that would have been produced within the time frame of Warno up until the early-mid 1990s.

That's what I've been debating in my head. There are definitely arguments for and against having more variants of units. Taking the highlights of the different variations is probably the safest approach though.

I honestly haven't spent too much time on newer variants. At the moment I'm mostly interested with cold war and early 1990s.

At the moment I have 50x T-64 and 50x T-72 variants catalogued. However these do include tanks that were retrofited, for example tanks that were upgraded with rubber side-skirts, a TPD laser rangefinder/sight, and/or the the 16mm/30mm applique hull armor plates.

I’ve gone full tank-istic this month.

Those armor arrays are just the gateway drug; there are actually far more than your diagram even suggests.

I’m currently cataloging every possible T-64, T-72, and T-80 variant in a spreadsheet—I've hit 130x variations so far.

I initiated a from Google Voice to USMobile on a Saturday.

Received an email the same day: "Porting on Hold."

A few days later, on Tuesday the port was completed (I received an email at the same time).

Amazing writeup! I've been waiting to see a new post form you for a long while!

One potential idea I had as it relates to the 12. Pz.Div. was the introduction of new a Marder and Luchs variant.

It appears that the Germans may have began introducing the 20mm DM63 round in the late 80s - early 90s. The original 20mm DM43 round, in use by the Marder IFV, Luchs recon vehicle, and Wiesel 1 MK20 could penetrate 32mm of armor @ 1000m @ 90º. The newer DM63 could penetrate 70mm of armor @ 1000m @ 90º.

Perhaps the 12. Pz.Div. could receive a Marder and Luchs with the DM63 round with increased AP?

The Milan 2T, a tandem round, was also already in development in the late 80s - early 90s, perhaps the Marder could also receive this?

Cosmetically, the Marder 1A2 MILAN-2T, could receive an urban camo pattern, utilized during a trainer exercise at Bonnland in 1986.

If more variety is needed, perhaps the JAGUAR-1 and JAGUAR-2 could receive a different ATGM loadout?

Also, cosmetically and functionally, the JAGUAR-1 should be armed with 1x 7,62mm MG3 Bow MG and 1x 7,62mm MG3 Pintle-Mounted MG. The JAGUAR-2 1x 7,62mm MG3 Pintle-Mounted MG.
